It was not until 1911 that people became aware of it. This is a magical city right up there in the clouds. Interested yet? Let us learn more about this amazing place called Machu Picchu. About the people who built it, about the period when it was built, how it was built, how was this amazing place like and who discovered it. A professor from Yale Hiram Bingham used to explore the less travelled and used to look out for hidden places. He was looking everywhere for Vilcabamba but nobody knew about it. Then he met with someone called Arteaga and Bingham asked him about the presence of any nearby ruins. Arteaga informed him about ruins on the top of the mountains named Machu Picchu but was reluctant to take him there because of presence of snakes. Bingham tried to offer him money and ultimately Arteaga agreed. They started the journey to the top of the mountain. They found a boy and Bingham asked him if there were any ruins. They went on and found some Inca stones and they stumbled upon a majestic stone staircase. Upon climbing the top of the staircase, they found a stone temple and got mesmerized by the beauty of the place. They found another temple which was as enthralling. Bingham had a black box camera and he wanted to take some pictures, the 1st picture being that of the boy. Then he saw some vines in a distance and Bingham thought that it must be Vilcabamba. However, he removed the vines and understood that didn’t discover Vilcabamba, fortune has been kind enough to lead him to a place that is even more wonderful. He had discovered Machu Picchu. The Machu Picchu was built by the Incas, around 1430. It was a small city but was built way on the top of the Andes mountain range. It was built at a remote place and was built between two peaks of the mighty Andes and at a height of 8,000 feet above the sea level. Known as the land of Gods- Machu Picchu was quite an organized society with all the services- military, financial, tax, goods etc. With over 150 structures including homes, palaces and temples. No doubt that Machu Picchu is “the city in the clouds.”

Table of Contents Introduction Chapter 1: Adult faces Chapter 2: Children’s and Babies’ Faces Chapter 3: Individual Features Eyes Noses Lips How to Draw Ears Chapter 5: How to Draw Hands and Feet How to Draw Hands Drawing Feet Chapter 6: How to Draw Hair Chapter 7: Body Proportions - Bigger Shoulders or Bigger Hips? Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction As human beings, each one of us has a face that is unique to ourselves and to no-one else on the planet. It’s true that each of us has two ears, two eyes, a pair of eyebrows, a nose and a mouth, but that’s where the resemblance ends. There are an infinite number of variations on this basic theme, and even a tiny fraction of an inch in the size of each feature can make a difference to our recognition of one person from another. Our brains are so finely tuned to recognizing faces that they even see them where they aren’t there! Several people have reported seeing the face of Jesus in a cheese sandwich or the face of Abraham Lincoln in a stain on the floor. But within the human race, although the variety of individual faces is enormous, there are certain proportions and characteristics which are common to all of us. Let’s take a look.

Persian Letters (1721). By: Montesquieu, Translated By: John Davidson

Persian Letters (1721). By: Montesquieu, Translated By: John Davidson
Charles-Louis de Secondat, Baron de La Brède et de Montesquieu ( 18 January 1689 - 10 February 1755), generally referred to as simply Montesquieu, was a French judge, man of letters, and political philosopher. He is famous for his articulation of the theory of separation of powers, which is implemented in many constitutions throughout the world. He is also known for doing more than any other author to secure the place of the word "despotism" in the political lexicon. Biography: Montesquieu was born at the Château de la Brède in southwest France, 25 kilometres (16 mi) south of Bordeaux. His father, Jacques de Secondat, was a soldier with a long noble ancestry. His mother, Marie Françoise de Pesnel, who died when Charles was seven, was an heiress who brought the title of Barony of La Brède to the Secondat family. After the death of his mother he was sent to the Catholic College of Juilly, a prominent school for the children of French nobility, where he remained from 1700 to 1711. His father died in 1713 and he became a ward of his uncle, the Baron de Montesquieu. He became a counselor of the Bordeaux Parliament in 1714. In 1715 he married Jeanne de Lartigue, a Protestant, who eventually bore him three children. The Baron died in 1716, leaving him his fortune as well as his title, and the office of Président à Mortier in the Bordeaux Parliament. Montesquieu''s early life occurred at a time of significant governmental change. England had declared itself a constitutional monarchy in the wake of its Glorious Revolution (1688-89), and had joined with Scotland in the Union of 1707 to form the Kingdom of Great Britain. In France the long-reigning Louis XIV died in 1715 and was succeeded by the five-year-old Louis XV. These national transformations had a great impact on Montesquieu; he would refer to them repeatedly in his work.Montesquieu withdrew from the practice of law to devote himself to study and writing. He achieved literary success with the publication of his Lettres persanes (Persian Letters, 1721), a satire representing society as seen through the eyes of two imaginary Persian visitors to Paris and Europe, cleverly criticizing the absurdities of contemporary French society. He next published Considérations sur les causes de la grandeur des Romains et de leur décadence (Considerations on the Causes of the Grandeur and Decadence of the Romans, 1734).................. John Davidson (11 April 1857 - 23 March 1909) was a Scottish poet, playwright and novelist, best known for his ballads. He also did translations from French and German. In 1909, financial difficulties, as well as physical and mental health problems, led to his suicide. Life and works: Scotland He was born at Barrhead, East Renfrewshire as the son of Alexander Davidson, an Evangelical Union minister and Helen née Crocket of Elgin. His family removed to Greenock in 1862 where he was educated at Highlanders'' Academy there and entered the chemical laboratory of Walker''s Sugarhouse refinery in his 13th year, returning after one year to school as a pupil teacher. In Public Analysts'' Office, 1870-71. In these employments he developed an interest in science which became an important characteristic of his poetry. In 1872 he returned for four years to the Highlanders'' Academy as a pupil-teacher, and, after a year at Edinburgh University (1876-77), received in 1877 his first scholastic employment at Alexander''s Charity, Glasgow. During the next six years he held positions in the following schools: Perth Academy (1878-81), Kelvinside Academy, Glasgow (1881-82), and Hutchinson''s Charity, Paisley (1883-84). He varied his career by spending a year as clerk in a Glasgow thread firm (1884-85), and subsequently taught in Morrison''s Academy, Crieff (1885-88), and in a private school at Greenock (1888-89). Personal Finance for Millennials - Learning Financial Budgeting and Proper Investment
Table of Contents Introduction The Things We Buy “Wasting” of Money Learning Financial Management Making a Budget and Sticking to It Keeping an Accounts Diary Thinking of health insurance? Making Your First Million! The Credit Card Addiction Saving for the Silver Years Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction This book is not restricted only for millennials – the people belonging to the 18 to 35 age group – who are worried about their money and finances and how to keep within a budget? It is for all of us out there who suddenly begin to wonder the best ways in which we can save enough money for a secure old age and retirement. Careers, relationships, professional standing in society, and personal life is all of course a part of your lifestyle, be you in the generation Z age group, or a baby boomer or a generation Y adult – knowing more about proper financial budgeting and financial goals is definitely important for all of us, who have some money in our hands, in which we need it to grow. This book is going to tell you something of finances based on experience and real-life stories, but the idea is there is money out there just waiting for you. I remember as a child my father talking about his parents and their ideas of finances – he knew the value of money, every single red cent coming into the house, and which needed to go into the care of grandpa’s wife, six children, elderly parents, and a number of relatives, including cousins, nephews and nieces because, in keeping with the culture of the times, joint families were the rule and not the exception, and nuclear families had not been thought up. The men of the family worked hard throughout the day and earned enough money to feed their children either on daily wages, monthly salaries or what they paid themselves in their own businesses. The women managed the best way of making sure that everyone was well fed, well clothed and the family never got into debt.

Music Heals - The Powerful Healing Power of Music Therapy
Table of Contents Introduction Different types of Healing Music Music Therapy – My Experiences Secrets of Traditional Chants Prenatal Influence of Music on Babies Exorcism through Music and Rhythm Even Simple Words Hold the Power… Different Ragas for Different Ailments Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction Music relaxes, elevates, soothes, inspires and delights. But most of us do not know that music can also heal, and when I got interested in this traditional method of healing one spiritually, mentally and emotionally through music, I began by researching in ancient musical therapy processes all over the world. I was astonished to hear and learn that every civilization had its own music therapy process, for healing. It came in the form of chants, prayers, and morning dawned to the music of the birds chirping on the trees, and the bees humming on the flowers. If you were relaxed enough to lie down under a tree, and just hear the sloughing of the wind, making a rustling sound through the trees, you would find yourself feeling sleepy, relaxing, and then calming down tranquilly. This book is going to give you a glimpse of traditions in Asia, along with traditional information of music therapy, and because I did not research in Chinese, Thai, Japanese or other Eastern music therapy, you are going to find references to ragas, slokas, pertaining to Indian music, and also Indian mythology.

Tackling the Problem of Constipation - Natural Ways and Means of Preventing and Curing Constipation
Table of Contents Introduction Symptoms of Constipation Causes of Constipation Biological Reasons for Constipation Eating Habits Toxin buildup Drugs in Your System Overuse of Harmful Laxatives Other Reasons for Constipation Pathogen Poisoning Traditional Treatments Stress and Strain Affecting Biological Processes Natural Remedies A Traditional Meal Example A Natural Laxative for Constipation Water Therapy Prevention of Constipation Old-Time Diets Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction I happened to visit a friend of mine who was busy in her clinic and just overheard a number of patients talking about their symptoms. After half an hour of listening to a majority of them, I noticed one thing, “so how is your bowel movement,” was one of the questions which was asked by my doctor friend, almost habitually, and in an almost absent-minded manner. So I began to wonder why a body process, – elimination of waste products from your body – which was not discussed in public, often suddenly began to be a topic of conversation, of great interest, among the medical fraternity as well as among the general public. Instead of “How Do You Do” which is a good opportunity for anybody to begin describing the state of his digestive system, which has suddenly become sluggish. For such people, there is only one doggerel which suits the purpose well – I have no interest in listening about your digestion "how are you" is a polite statement not a question. When I told my doctor friend this, she sighed, and said, well, she had to ask this question because half of the problems which were diagnosed in her clinic were due to bad eating habits, including starvation, malnutrition, and other lifestyle related health problems. And that included constipation in a big way. In fact, she half laughingly said that in the civilized world, constipation was so common an ailment, that this could be called The Era of Constipation.
