With a Lemon in Your Hand - How Lemons Can Keep You Healthy and Beautiful
Table of Contents Introduction Knowing Your Lemons Insomnia and Fever Beauty Products from Lemons Making Pure Rosewater Natural Hair Conditioner/Nourishing Oil with Lemons Unblemished Skin Making a Skin Nourishing Cream Conclusion Author Bio Introduction A couple of years ago I wrote a book upon the magic of lemons, telling people about how lemons have been used down the edges to keep people healthy, as well as beautiful. This book is going to give you a large number of tips on what you can do with the lemon in your hand. You are going to be surprised that in ancient times, in places where lemons were plentiful, lemons were used to make natural beauty products, as well as in medicine, apart from being used extensively in cuisine as an agent to impart a sour flavor to the dish cooked, in place of vinegar. According to ancient medical sciences, nature has already programmed human bodies to cure themselves naturally, with the passing of time. Nevertheless, they used herbs, vegetables, and spices as natural medicines to support and encourage the healing process. Once they began to be used for healing, they were then used for cooking. Lemons, grown in the places where they were native, were used to boost up the human immune system and to keep one healthy, throughout one’s lifetime. In ancient medicine, it was supposed that a lemon was capable of curing you from scalp to toenail. If you want to know more about how you can plant lemons in your garden, and their types, you will like this book – The Magic of Lemons - found here: http://tinyurl.com/j8mzzsm The various medical uses to which a lemon has been used down the ages is the reason why it is scientifically called Citrus Medica. A lemon is able to cure diseases from anemia to viral diseases.

Introduction to Sustainable Greenhouse Gardening - Growing Plants in Your Greenhouse

Introduction to Sustainable Greenhouse Gardening - Growing Plants in Your Greenhouse
Table of Contents Introduction to Sustainable Greenhouse Gardening Introduction Why Make a Glass Green House Types of Greenhouses Span Roofed Greenhouse Three-Quarter Span House Different Shaped Houses Propagating Frames Heat in the Greenhouse To Heat or Not to Heat; That Is the Question Soil Choice Sand Pots and Containers Getting the Right Potting Compost Caring of Your Greenhouse Plants Sowing Seeds Transference of Seedlings – Pricking off Potting Your Plants Proper Ventilation Watering and Precautions Appendix Cleanliness How to Make Leaf Mold Conclusion Making Propagating Frames Author Bio Publisher Introduction When I was young and had just begun to take an interest in gardening, the only information I could get about Greenhouses in gardens was a very patronizing sneer, “a greenhouse? Oh, this is a fad of rich people, who want to show off.” “Serious” gardeners did not bother much about expensive greenhouses at that time. Possibly they had reason because we were living in a climate where one did not need a greenhouse in order to grow everything we wished growing in our garden. We had plenty of sunshine, air, and rich organic soil. We did not have harsh winds and snowy winters. We did not need to pamper our plans so much, praying that they would survive in inclement weather. When I grew up and began to look at the gardens in other climates and in different corners of the earth, I began to understand and estimate the quality and value of a good greenhouse. So for all those people who are still under the impression that greenhouses are expensive to make and maintain, well, the answer is no! You just need to have some space in your garden. This is not only going to increase the interest of your garden, but is also going to add in its utility. Also, it is going to extend the range of plants, which you can cultivate to a very large extent, and if some of the glass is heated then your cultivation range is almost limitless.

Water Purification For Survival - A Guide for Purification and Conservation of Water

Water Purification For Survival - A Guide for Purification and Conservation of Water
Table of Contents Preface Introduction Chapter 1 - Collecting water Discerning Filtration and Purification Chapter 2 - Filteration Techniques Building a water filter Chapter 3 - Purification techniques Boiling Filtration or purification pumps Purification drops and tablets Make an evaporation trap in the ground. Turning urine and salt water into drinkable water. Solar still Chapter 4 - Choose Your Snow Wisely How to melt snow the right way Does the water from snow need to be purified? Chapter 5 - Different Approaches to Hydration Chapter 6 - Minimising Water Loss Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction Nothing, I repeat nothing, is more important than water for humans to live on this planet (well excluding oxygen though that’s obvious). Your body is made up of around 60-80% water and you cannot hope to continue performing your daily chores with the same efficiency if you don’t find enough water. Certainly the amount of usage of water varies depending upon the climate and activities you are involved in, but its presence is always required. In a moderate climate with low levels of activity, approximately 2 liters of water is required daily for a 160 lb person. Certainly when the climate changes or the level of activity turns to exercise, you need to increase this amount simultaneously. The first sign of dehydration may be discerned through the color of the urine. A normal hydrated body produces a pale yellow color, but a dehydrated body produces urine that is darker in color. To make sure that the body doesn’t dehydrate you need to not only meet the required quantity of water, but you also have to make sure that the water is clean. The reason why you constantly need to drink water is because your body continuously releases liquids and you need to maintain those levels. The release of liquids from your body is in the form of urination, sweating, excretion, and respiration. The liquids are released so that the toxins can be removed from your body and proper hydration makes this happen along with redistributing the nutrients in the body. Water also provides the pathway for electrical impulses to travel through nerve and brain cells to activate the muscles. The brain in itself is made up of 80% water.

A Beginner's Guide to Annuals and Biennials - Essential Guide for a Beautiful Garden

A Beginner's Guide to Annuals and Biennials - Essential Guide for a Beautiful Garden
Table of Contents A Beginner''s Guide to Annuals and Biennials Introduction Choosing the Right Soil Soil Color and Fertility Humus Preparation of the Soil Best Time for Seed Sowing The Thinning Process Staking Your Annuals Why Mulch? Cultivation and Maintenance Watering your Plants List of Hardy annuals Half Hardy Annuals Annuals Suitable for Cutting Purposes - Annuals for autumn blooming - Half Hardy Annuals for Edging Your Border Knowing More about Biennials Sowing the seeds Preparing the Ground List of Popular Biennials Conclusion Author''s Bio Publisher Introduction There are far too many people out there who are under the impression that you cannot have a beautiful garden without spending huge amounts of money. That is so not true. A little bit of planning and this fallacy is going to fall to pieces by the wayside. Those who are grown annuals for years are going to give this statement the lie gladly. Their initial investment must have been just a packet of seeds. The next year, the plants were grown from the seeds collected from the previous years'' crop. Do not forget that the life of an annual is limited to just 12 months and so you must not expect them to grow up and bloom again the next year, unless of course you allowed the seeds to lie in the bed without collecting them. That is when they are going to bloom up just like weeds with a little bit of rain, and with the coming of the spring. One of the great advantages of annuals is that they are quite easy to grow and flourish in your garden over a long period. The most common are well known to even amateur gardeners who can recognize a cornflower, nasturtiums, Virginia stock and Candytuft. These are very beautiful in themselves, but every gardener is growing them in his garden. So be a little adventurous and grow annuals that are lesser-known, whose names you will find in seed catalogs, nursery catalogs and in nurseries online. There are two kinds of annuals - the hardy kind and the half hardy kind. The hardy annuals are sewn out of doors, either in the autumn are in the spring. The half-hardy annuals are normally raised in frames or under cloches if you are subject to a continuous frost. Half-hardy annuals may need a little bit more of extra care and coddling , but that extra is going to be worth it when you see the blossoms in your garden.

Housing Your Birds Span Roof Lean to Roosts Some Tips Ranging Baby Turkeys Containers for Food Feeding Your Turkeys Fattening Your Turkey Chicks Growers Mash How to Prepare a Turkey For Table Smoked Turkey Conclusion Author Bio Introduction Did you know that turkeys are native to the New World- i.e North America, and have been around for millenniums? So, is it a wonder that when these delicious and pompous birds reached the shores of Europe in the 16th century, thanks to the traders in West Indies and Spain, they were immediately added to exotic and popular fare. And since then, a turkey dinner, especially on Thanksgiving and on Christmas was soon a part of the social fabric. Turkeys may not be eaten as often as you eat chicken, but you can always have them for Turkey sandwiches. Turkish traders and merchants brought them to Europe by ship, and that is why the name "turkey" became synonymous with this unusually funny looking and self-important birds strutting about in your backyard. Once upon a time there were also called the Indian fowl. I was under the impression that that was because the Native Americans were called Indians at that time. They knew the value of this bird and hunted it regularly. That was until I found out that the "Indian" part of the name came from the European tendency of naming exotic birds, with the names of exotic lands. So the Catalans called it Gall d''inde and the French also called it Poulet d''inde meaning fowl from India. In Hebrew, it is called Tarnegol Hodu - rooster of India. And the irony is that in Turkey, it is called Hindi which means related to India! In reality, Indians of India did not know about this bird until the Britishers brought it to India for their turkey dinners in the late 18th and 19th century. But these are native birds living for millenniums in the North American continent. Wild turkeys also known to the first settlers as "gobblers" soon became a part of the dining table, and the Puritans must have been really surprised at such a show of pomp and colorful splendor in a gobbler.

That is the reason why you may have skin tones, a shade or two lighter than the rest of your body because you have been bleaching it or slathering sunscreen lotion on it. Just go into the shower and do a careful survey of the rest of your body. You are going to be surprised to see parts of it which have been neglected for ages. In fact, let me admit it. I find rubbing and scrubbing the lower extremities below the knee, a big bore, because I have to bend over so much, to get to my knees, ankles and feet. Even sitting down and lifting them up in order to scrub them is a major headache. You may think this reason so absurd. According to me, I think it perfectly reasonable! Believe it or not, most of us have some silly excuse or reason to justify why we neglect major portions of our body, so much. That is why we have rough elbows and rough knees and perhaps neglected feet, especially the dead cells around the soles and so on. So this book is going to tell you many natural skin and body care tips and techniques, which you can use easily on your body. Remember your face may be your fortune, but the rest of your body is equally important. So remember to cherish it.

The Magic of Sprouts

The Magic of Sprouts
The Magic of Sprouts Table of Contents Introduction The Nutritive Value of Sprouts Suitable Sprouting Seeds How to Use Sprouts Buying Sprouts Why Are My Sprouts Inedible? How to Make Sprouts Sprouting Lentils in Colanders Making a Sprouting Bag Readying Seeds for Germination How to Grow Wheatgrass Sprouts Sprouting the Seeds Beforehand Watering Wheatgrass sprouts/seedlings Harvesting Mung Bean and Rice Pancakes Author Bio Publisher Introduction Nobody is quite certain when human beings decided to make sprouts a part of their daily diet. Not only were they healthy and nourishing, but they are also an unusual contrast to other vegetable and fruit items in matters of texture and flavor. But it is a well-known fact that millenniums ago, people of those cultured civilizations knew everything about adding germinating seeds to their daily diet, and did so regularly. In olden days, people of many such civilizations worshiped the Gods and Goddesses of Harvest by offering them a handful of sprouted grains, before the first spring sowing of the year. So in one way they were appeasing the gods, and asking their blessings for a bountiful harvest. In another way, they were making sure that the seeds that they intended to sow in their lands were capable of producing plants through successful germination! So one could say that two birds were knocked out with just one stone. Sprouting is the process of germination in which seeds, which are edible are allowed to grow into little plants. These are then eaten raw or they are cooked. Sprouting is an integral part of East Asian cuisine, where traditionally nearly every meal had sprouts in some form or the other, either raw or in cooked form added to the platter. Luckily, this healthy habit spread throughout the world, and more and more people began to know all about the benefits of eating sprouts to gain nutrition and enjoy good health.

Today we are going to embark on a journey back to the age of the dinosaurs. The dinosaurs are some of the most incredible animals that ever lived on our planet. They lived nearly 200 million years ago and thrived for about 165 million years. We humans have only been around for about 60,000 years and we have only been using computers for about 75 years. The dinosaurs mysteriously became extinct and disappeared from our earth, but left their fossilized remains behind. Dinosaur fossils have been constantly discovered in human history; the Chinese thought they were dragon bones and Europeans thought they were the bones of biblical monsters. Luckily, the scientific study of dinosaurs began between 1815-1824 with the discovery of an Iguanodon fossil. Since then dinosaurs have been discovered all over the world. Their immense size, strange shapes, and wonderful natures make them inherently worthy of interest. The study of dinosaurs requires depth of imagination, analytical skills, and thought. The many unanswered questions about their lives, behavior, and disappearance provoke the curious to seek answers and ask even more questions. I hope this book fuels your imagination and makes you want to learn even more about dinosaurs. I hope you learn to appreciate the value of the dinosaurs and that you bring a spirit of openness and wonder on your journey back to the age of the dinosaurs.
