Als Walter Moers den Briefwechsel zwischen Hildegunst von Mythenmetz und dem Buchhaimer Eydeeten Hachmed Ben Kibitzer sichtete, stieß er auf einen Brief, in dem der zamonische Autor ein Fest schildert, das Moers frappierend an unser Weihnachtsfest erinnert hat. Die Lindwürmer Zamoniens begehen es alljährlich und nennen es »Hamoulimepp«. Während dieser drei Feiertage steht die Lindwurmfeste ganz im Zeichen der beiden Figuren »Hamouli« und »Mepp«, die unserem Weihnachtsmann und dem Knecht Ruprecht verblüffend ähneln. Außerdem gehören zur Tradition Hamoulimeppwürmer, Hamoulimeppwurmzwerge, ungesundes Essen, ein Bücher-Räumaus, ein feuerloses Feuerwerk und vieles andere mehr.
