Courthouse Rap

Courthouse Rap
In outlaw music there is always the question of authenticity. Daniel Hernandez became Tekashi 6ix9ine and hooked up with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods to shoot a video. Then he became their cash cow, and some of them became his muscle, shoot-out in a Barclay''s Center hallway. They turned on Tekashi and he became a cooperator against them, returning to SDNY on violations of supervised release then back out on the concert tour. For drill rapper Kay Flock it was different. He really was from Sev Side, 187th Street. He wasn''t an appendage to his group: he was central to it. When with seven he was indicted, he did not cooperate. He took it to trial. Inner City Press covered both cases. While the Tekashi 6ix9ine trial was covered by other journalists, there was only one media in the courtroom for US versus Kay Flock, born as Kevin Perez. His mother came each day, and three dozen supporters from the neighborhood. The author knows, or knew, the neighborhood well, having lived there for years: first car on Beaumont Avenue, first storefront on Courtlandt then Washington Avenues. Now after a stint at the UN ending in UN gangsters ousting, covering the SDNY courthouse for these trials. This book starts with the just-completed Kay Flock trial, then compares it to Tekashi 6ix9ine. Should music be on trial? Should authenticity?

Genocide Games of Guterres, In A Stormy Time

release date: Feb 18, 2022
Genocide Games of Guterres, In A Stormy Time
When UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres went to the Genocide Olympics in Beijing, without saying a word about the mass incarceration of the Uighurs in Xinjiang, it was a new low, even for him. But he had concealed his personal financial links with UN briber CEFC China Energy, convicted in the SDNY court, and banned Inner City Press which asks him about the links. This text tracks Guterres'' descent, called shameful by a US Senator. It is a tale of Kurt Wheelock (of Belt and Road, and Predatory Bender before that, here covering the Avenatti / Stormy Daniels trial in SDNY). It also has more on lawyer Michael Randall Long, now filing in the EDNY where Kurt picks up following the fraud case of Jho Low and Roger Ng of Goldman Sachs. It''s a series about corruption, with the UN in decay but the scrutiny and legal fight-back accelerating. #GenocideGamesOfGuterres

Rudy Giuliani From Prosecutor to Defendant in SDNY

release date: Jan 04, 2025
Rudy Giuliani From Prosecutor to Defendant in SDNY
This is a story of the collections cases against former NYC Mayor Rudolph Giuliani in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, where he was once US Attorney. It all began in Brooklyn, with Mafia ties alleged, a motivation. Manhattan College in The Bronx to 1965, NYU Law then a clerkship doe Judge Lloyd Francis MacMahon in, where else, SDNY. This Court would keep reappearing, with Giuliani moving from one side of the "v." to the other (he also got sued a lot as NYC Mayor). Rudy rose to acclaim taking on a corrupt politician, Rep. Bertram Podell. With the election of Ronald Reagan, Rudy switch from Independent (he''d previously volunteers for RFK) to Republican. And got a post in DOJ, justifying policies on Haitian, then the coveted US Attorney for SDNY post. Three and a half years of Boesky, when compared to Madoff, was mild. So too Michael Milken. Richard Wigton and Tim Tabor of Kidder got off scot-free. But Fat Tony Salerno? A dream team of Michael Chertoff, John Savarese and Gil Childers was put together. Their Commission Case, the use of RICO, rode Rudy to the Mayoralty, albeit with a four year hiatus after losing in 1989 to Dinkins. The Crown Heights riot, the Family Red Apple boycott, turned the tide. Dinkins also presided over mass eviction of homesteaders in the South Bronx, his paternalist officials unable to see that some did not want to be dependent. Rudy came in, and with him Abner Louima, then Patrick Dorismond. There would be no lifting of term limits after 9/11, even for America''s Mayor. And an attempted run against Hilary Clinton was cut short by prostate cancer and Judith Nathan. Would she later take Joe D''s jersey? Likewise eight years later a run for the Republican nomination for President was cut short by Bernard Kerik''s indictment. So, lobby for MEK, and hook up with the Orange Man in 2016. Lobby for the extradition of Gulen, and for Alejandro Betancourt. Everyone knows about the Four Seasons Total Landscaping press conference, the failed Pennsylvania lawsuits. There was nearly a prosecution of Rudy by SDNY, in the aura of dealing with Firtash. Judge Oetken said the search was (mostly) righteous. But in the end, they did not seek indictment. But pointing that finger at Ruby Freeman and her daughter, saying they passed around USB ports like heroin or cocaine, would have legs. First there were the discovery violations, to be repeated in SDNY. Then the defamation hit, $148 million of which $75 million were punitive. Chief Judge Beryl A. Howell laid in on strong, and the cases to collect began. This is the story, all the way back, first in a series.

American Public Opinion and Strategic Planning

American Public Opinion and Strategic Planning
This thesis explores the impact and importance of public opinion in the American strategic/political planning process. It begins with a discussion of the special role of public opinion in the United STates, how it has changed, and how it effects policymakers. After a general consideration of the uniqueness of that relationship, the role of public opinion in determining the national interest is examined. Two case studies are then presented. The first deals with how a knowledge of existing public opinion on such general areas as support for defense spending could be used by the Executive branch to obtain support for a particular strategic policy, specifically; arms sales to foreign countries. The second case deals with how a complex strategy related to nuclear deterrence (deployment of the MX missile) was apparently adjusted to gain public opinion support. The thesis concludes with a consideration of the implications of the case study findings. (Author).

Interpretation and the Historic Landscape

Interpretation and the Historic Landscape
This thesis critically analyzes two common methods of interpretation that occur on the historic landscape and offers an alternative method. The first method is the Formalist convention which identifies and interprets the historic landscape based on dates, designer, function, origin or other fact which locates the site within a stylistic sequence of similar landscapes. The second method is the ubiquitous use of text panels and guide books as the main interpretative medium. The alternative focuses on the experience of the landscape design as the main interpretative method. This alternative method is then applied to the landscape of Homestead National Monument of America, located in southeast Nebraska, through a conceptual interpretative design.

Quantitative Herd-level Evaluation of a Commercially Available Vaccine for Control of Salmonella in Dairy Cattle

release date: Jan 01, 2012
Quantitative Herd-level Evaluation of a Commercially Available Vaccine for Control of Salmonella in Dairy Cattle
Salmonella continues to threaten public health as well as negatively impact dairy producers on multiple levels. Efficacious solutions to control Salmonella among dairy cattle have long been sought to alleviate these problems. A novel vaccine technology has been developed based on purified siderophore receptors and porin proteins (SRP®) derived from Salmonella Newport. When vaccinated with these SRP® cattle are stimulated to produce antibodies which act in concert with host defenses to disrupt iron acquisition of pathogenic bacteria. To evaluate the effectiveness of this technology, a prospective cohort study was designed utilizing herds (n = 11) that practiced whole herd vaccination with the SRP® vaccine (vaccinated cohort) and herds (n = 11) that had not used the SRP® vaccine. Samples were collected during four rounds at approximately six week intervals from June through October 2009. Samples were transported to the laboratory at West Texas A & M University and cultured for the prevalence of Salmonella using selective enrichment methods. Salmonella isolates were evaluated for antimicrobial susceptibility and serotype. Data was analyzed using commercially available software to evaluate the herd-level effects of vaccination. Salmonella was ubiquitous throughout the Texas Panhandle and Eastern New Mexico, within-herd animal level estimates of prevalence ranged from 0.0 - 92%, over the length of the study period. Overall all rounds vaccinated herds had decreased (P = 0.012) Salmonella prevalence (15.3 vs. 27.5%). Vaccinated herds had numerically fewer Salmonella isolates belonging to the Newport serotype. Salmonella Typhimurium isolates were recovered approximately equally from vaccinated and non-vaccinated herds. Isolates from vaccinated herds were resistant to fewer antimicrobials throughout the study period. The ACSSuT(resistant to ampicillin, chloramphenicol, streptomycin, sulphisoxazole, and tetracycline) and MDR-AmpC (ACSSuT resistance plus resistance to ceftiofur and amoxicillin/clavulanate) resistant phenotypes were more frequently observed among non-vaccinated herds and none of the isolates from vaccinated or non-vaccinated herds were resistant to nalidixic acid, gentamicin, ciprofloxacin, or amikacin. These findings indicate vaccine efficacy for the reduction of Salmonella prevalence. Dairy operators along with herd veterinarians are encouraged to utilize this data with other herd specific factors in determining whether to use this specific vaccine.

A Planning System for Research Management in a University Environment

A Planning System for Research Management in a University Environment
"The research project director at a college or university has few, if any, of the traditional management tools that are available for other forms of management, especially in performing the early, crucial stages of planning. This is particularly distressing since managing a program in this type of environment can be very difficult, due to bureaucratic red tape and interdepartmental concerns. The purpose here is to develop an aid for managers with these problems, for more effective research management in a university environment. After developing a general model for a typical research project at a university, the Gasification Research On Wood (GROW) project, which is currently in progress at the University of Missour--Rolla, was used to show its applicability with emphasis on the conceptual and planning phases. The Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) was used to computerize the total project management system. The results show that although there are problems in applying PERT technique fairly, and without emotion, it can be concluded that the experienced project director should find the model extremely useful as a planning aid"--Abstract, leaf ii.
