Bananas

release date: Dec 24, 2016
Bananas
Good short stories should stay with us forever. Bananas offers insight into the every-day life of people like you and me - experiences that cause us to pause while also gifting us with insight. The stories in this short collection are written to do just that, linked together by a unity of place and time - every day occurrences rendered like random snapshots hung by wooden clips along a weathered clothesline.

Rebt

release date: Dec 24, 2016
Rebt
This study investigated the use of Articulated (spoken aloud) Thought Disputation (ATD) as a method of addressing the perceived weaknesses in the REBT model''s transferability from the clinical to real world experiences. These data suggest there was no overall difference between the training and control groups on Emotional Intelligence or Social Problem Solving scales. There was an overall main effect by Time. This increase was significant only for the Training group. Improvement did not differ by Age or Sex on Post-test scores. An assumption could be drawn from the collected data that a continual increase in Emotional Intelligence and Social Problem Solving scores may have been realized, if the study had continued for a longer period of Time.

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy Using Articulated Disputation
This study investigated the use of Articulated (spoken aloud) Thought (AT) as a method of addressing the perceived weaknesses in the REBT model''s transferability for clients from the clinical to real world settings. Go Suck a Lemon

release date: Mar 21, 2012
Go Suck a Lemon
"People are not disturbed by things; they are disturbed by their view of things." Epictetus Emotional intelligence (EI) refers to the ability to perceive, control, and evaluate emotions. Some researchers suggest that emotional intelligence can be learned and strengthened, while others claim it is an inborn characteristic. EI has been defined as, "the subset of social intelligence that involves the ability to monitor one''s own and others'' feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them and to use this information to guide one''s thinking and actions." "Go Suck A Lemon" hopes to provide readers with methods for improving emotional intelligence by offering cognitive skill building techniques, thereby helping to create a less self-defeating and more enriching experience when experiencing emotion.NOTE TO AUDIOBOOK LISTENERS: Thanks to everyone for your comments on the audible edition of Go Suck a Lemon. Recording the Lemon was tough for me. I have no training in voice performance, recording or editing. I am a clinical therapist in private practice with a huge desire to share what I know with others. This audio book is not perfect, by any means. (It''s as imperfect as I am.) I don''t pretend it to be otherwise. If you can tolerate my best effort, please listen to this version. Otherwise you may enjoy the paperback or the Kindle version. Thank you to everyone who took the time to review it. I am very grateful for your words. Cheers!

The Chapbook

release date: Jan 14, 2012
The Chapbook
The term chap-book was formalized by bibliophiles of the 19th century, as a variety of ephemera (disposable printed material), popular or folk literature. It includes many kinds of printed material such as pamphlets, political and religious tracts, nursery rhymes, poetry, folk tales, children''s literature and almanacs. Where there were illustrations, they would be popular prints. The term is derived from chapmen - the word chap coming from the Old English céap meaning deal, barter, business. Peddlers once created chapbooks to illustrate the variety of materials they held in stock. The term is also in use for present-day publications, usually poetry, of up to about 40 pages, ranging from low-cost productions to expensive, finely produced editions. This Chapbook is a collection of works, including book descriptions and excerpts by Michael Cornwall (14 January 2012).

Parenting the Homosexually Developing Adolescent

release date: Mar 01, 2011
Parenting the Homosexually Developing Adolescent
I was somewhat skeptical of using the term ""homosexually developing adolescent,"" fearing our culture''s traditional panic response to the words homosexual and adolescent used in the same breath. Additionally, it would be considered an outrage to use the words homosexuality and child in such close proximity. The implication being that all normal children develop within a heterosexual model - homosexuality being something of an enigma, a manifestation occurring only in adulthood. The phrase homosexually developing adolescent is proposed as a way of identifying the fact that the rules of attachment are established very early in life. If we don''t begin to recognize this dynamic, developmental process as naturally occurring within the framework of child development, we will be preventing the normal development of all children, heterosexual and homosexual.
