This book represents a selection of poems of John Light spanning the years from 1999 to 2018 and covering a range of topics. They have been organized here by subject, which can be an arbitrary decision. Many poems can fall into multiple categories.I had no intent to have these ever published. Yet, at the start of 2020, the world has witnessed a pandemic that I sense is changing the world forever. Millions have been affected by the pandemic. As I write this preface, over 4.7M total confirmed cases have been recorded, and over 315K have died. Where this pandemic ends up is anyone''s guess at this point. If any of these poems can provide comfort, hope, or light, then they have served their purpose.All poems are original works and copyrighted by the Author John Light. Excerpt:Huge British battleships glided along the Thames, their cannon swiveling to cover an oddly shaped object that had struck near London''s outskirts, just inland from the famous waters by only a few yards. The shape glowed red hot as it sputtered there from water that had struck it from its impact and corresponding explosion of dirt and buildings, causing some of the Thames to wash over it momentarily.The scream of sirens, air raid sirens.Men and women, dressed in black with emergency arm bands on, scattered to hustle civilians to safety, fearing the Germans had struck with some fancy new kind of deadly weapon.But they were wrong.They were all wrong.It wasn''t the Germans at all.It wasn''t a super bomb.It was an attack from Mars.And it was the 2nd one!

Poems and drawings born of ancient stones. Both Steve Sneyd and John Light write about the future.
