This book represents a selection of poems of John Light spanning the years from 1999 to 2018 and covering a range of topics. They have been organized here by subject, which can be an arbitrary decision. Many poems can fall into multiple categories.I had no intent to have these ever published. Yet, at the start of 2020, the world has witnessed a pandemic that I sense is changing the world forever. Millions have been affected by the pandemic. As I write this preface, over 4.7M total confirmed cases have been recorded, and over 315K have died. Where this pandemic ends up is anyone''s guess at this point. If any of these poems can provide comfort, hope, or light, then they have served their purpose.All poems are original works and copyrighted by the Author John Light. Excerpt:Huge British battleships glided along the Thames, their cannon swiveling to cover an oddly shaped object that had struck near London''s outskirts, just inland from the famous waters by only a few yards. A holiday afloat - can Dad keep everyone from falling in the water?

Poems and drawings born of ancient stones. Both Steve Sneyd and John Light write about the future. They gave a joint poetry reading at the Newham Science Fiction Festival and more recently read at the Newcastle book launch of Iron Press''s anthology "Star Trek - The Poems". This is their first published collaboration and grew out of the interest they also share in those cultures of the past that have left only stone remains and myths.
