Life's Greatest Quest and Question

release date: Mar 06, 2018
Life's Greatest Quest and Question
"Holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." These words mean something. They do not mean several things. They do not mean a variety of things. They do not mean what I would like for them to mean. But they do mean something, and it is important, even urgent, that we come to a precise understanding of what the Holy Spirit is saying to us. We were fashioned by the hand of God and quickened to life by His own Spirit, thus there is something in every man that yearns to know Him. Much of religion, world-wide and age-long, has, beneath all the trappings, been a quest of the human spirit for God. I believe this is the case, from ancient pagan rituals to modern expressions of "worship." We were fashioned by the hand of God and quickened to life by His own Spirit, thus there is something in every man that yearns to know Him--unless that innate yearning has been smothered by opposing influences. There is also an inbred consciousness, even fear, that we are accountable to this God (however we may define Him) for the life we have lived in this world. Romans 2:14-16 makes this clear. This is what the Apostle calls the "holiness without which no man shall see the Lord." Modern concepts of holiness, even within the Church, distort or fall far short of this ..".holiness." Unlike the attempts of "religion" to address this need, there is nothing either negative or onerous about it. It is both a demand and a gracious provision from the hand of a holy God!

Biography of a Book

Biography of a Book
It is often said "everyone has a good story inside them" but, not many actually write a book. This may well be because of doubt and lack of confidence or a firm belief it would be a complete waste of time. Many famous authors have written books giving advice on how to write a book. I am not a famous author and I am not giving advice. This is a biography of how my story became a book. It took 23 years. It documents my fears, doubts and the non-belief in myself and how I finally overcame them; inspiration comes in very strange ways. Once I had completed my work, I embarked on the mission to get it published; I made many mistakes. This work is intended to encourage would-be writers by detailing all the issues that befell me in my endeavour to see my story in print. I am not suggesting anyone should follow my pattern but it may help you develop your own. Give it a try. You can do it!

Field Expedient SDR: Introduction to Software Defined Radio - Color - First Ed
Note: There are two versions of this book, one with full-color illustrations, the other with interior images in black and white. This is the full-color edition. Software Defined Radios are revolutionizing wireless communications, but getting started can be a challenge. Much of the available SDR training veers either towards highly mathematical engineering classes or radio cookbooks with little explanation for the steps taken. Introduction to Software Defined Radio steers between these two extremes by leveraging knowledge you already have but didn''t know was applicable to radio technology. Through a series of hands-on exercises, you''ll learn: to use gnuradio, the leading SDR software tool how analog signals are sampled when and how to use decimation and interpolation how filtering, tuning, and demodulating work how all the pieces of an SDR-based radio fit together This first volume of our Field Expedient SDR series will take you from being a complete novice to a capable user. There will still be much to learn, but you''ll be in a solid position to learn it.

From Heaven to Hell

release date: Oct 24, 2018
From Heaven to Hell
Michael''s an Archangel plagued with the task of paralyzing his arch-enemy Apollyon, Satan''s lone Demon general. From the beginning of time these two have been at each other''s throats, battling for the souls of humans. At creation, Apollyon too was an Archangel, becoming Michael''s adversary upon pledging his allegiance to Satan''s rebellion. It was not until after the fall that Lucifer''s true identity emerged. Too late for Apollyon to turn back, he plunged head first into a world of darkness, engulfed by deception.Once allies, these two factions, Father''s Angels and Lucifer''s Demons now engage in perpetual warfare. The prize? The souls of humans! From the beginning of time these two factions have influenced the decisions of history''s most notable figures, the famous, the infamous, as well as the insignificant. Virtually undetectable, these spirits exist among humans, to motivate, undermine and cloud their decisions. If Michael wins the day, scripture will be proven true, including salvation. But, if Apollyon wins, the world will be cast into darkness. As seen through the eyes of the Chronicle Angel Josephus, From Heaven to Hell records the continuous crusade between two of God''s most ferocious warriors. Their friendship and subsequent rivalry are the basis of man''s eternal struggle. To the victor goes the souls.

Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc

release date: Jan 01, 1998
Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc
Depicts the supply-management practices--including planning, production, and distribution--at Pioneer Hi-Bred International, the world''s leader in the genetically engineered hybrid crop seed industry. Set in the context of a supply-management planning meeting, it reveals conflicting considerations in setting policies for production (what, how much, and where to plant) and distribution. These considerations include costs, customer service, the vicissitudes of farm production, market uncertainties, and corporate culture. Since the issues are viewed from three independent perspectives--planning, production, and distribution--the case lends itself to role playing. The principal focus for discussion is to determine what bears on the key issues--the size of the safety stock inventory and the level of overseas products--and to specify the information that would be needed to arrive at a decision. Also permits consideration of the forces that could change supply management at Pioneer in years to come. Teaching Purpose: 1) To consider the challenges in managing the production, inventory, and distribution functions in a large, complex agribusiness firm. 2) To demonstrate the role of inventory management in supply management, and its relationship with production, marketing, and customer service.

A Rhetoric of Boundaries

release date: Jan 01, 2001
A Rhetoric of Boundaries
Historians and social scientists have long studied the construction and operation of conventional categories like "nature/culture." In this dissertation, I take a rhetorical approach to the study of a conventional category I refer to as the "technical/non-technical split," the arbitrary but powerful articulation of what is and is not "technical" that structures contemporary organizations. To accomplish this study, I conducted an ethnographic study of the ways that the organizational and individual belief in the separation of "technical" from "non-technical" structured daily work at an Internet startup company. I analyze the formation of the technical/non-technical structure, a formation caused by and resulting from the organization''s change from a tiny virtual company of four to a formal organization of 16. I also explore the specifics of the re-distribution of labor, texts, and physical space, and examine the ways that those changes impact the distribution of material and social capital. I close by drawing out the implications of my study for scholars and instructors of rhetoric and professional communication. I explore the impacts of my study on the rhetoric of technology and the implications of my study for contemporary understandings of the position of technical writers within or2anizations.

Effects of Experimental Management Schemes on Production and Nesting Ecology of Ducks at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge

Effects of Experimental Management Schemes on Production and Nesting Ecology of Ducks at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge
Effects of grazing by cattle in winter and mowing of hay in late summer on the nesting ecology of ducks in southeastern Oregon were studied from March through August of 1974 and 1975. A 650 ha study area was divided into 3 units and 3 patterns of management designed to produce differing amounts of residual cover were employed; management of each unit was changed between 1974 and 1975. The 3 patterns of management were: (1)unrestricted mowing and grazing prior to the waterfowl nesting season,(2) partial mowing but no grazing prior to the nesting season, and (3)neither mowing nor grazing prior to the nesting season. A total of 333 duck nests were found on the study area during 1974 and 1975. Mallards (Anas platyrhynchos), cinnamon teal (Anas cyanoptera) and gadwalls (Anas strepera) were the most common nesting species, constituting 91 percent of the nests studied. The remaining 9 percent were nests of shovelers (Anas clypeata), American wigeon (Anas americana), green-winged teal (Ana.
