Twenty 112 scale reinforced concrete load-bearing wall panels were subjected to monotonically increasing load to determine the effect of opening size, location of opening, and end conditions on the response of the member. In addition, these specimens and additional models were analyzed using an existing nonlinear finite element program NONLACS. The results from the present research along with test observations of previous researchers were employed to establish Empirical Wall Design Equations for solid wall panel and wall panels with opening. Comparison of theoretical failure loads obtained by these equations with available test data showed a very good correlation.
