Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit behandelt das Thema der Managementausbildung im deutschsprachigen Raum. Zentral wird die Frage behandelt, ob in Deutschland, Österreich und der deutschsprachigen Schweiz akademische Ausbildungsgänge existieren, die der Professionalisierung des Managerberufes zuträglich sind. Einleitend wird auf die Begriffe Professionalisierung, Manager und Management näher eingegangen und der Versuch unternommen, allgemein gültige Definitionen zu finden. Darauf aufbauend werden sowohl verschiedene Theorieansätze über Management als auch die disziplinäre Einordnung von Managementwissen intensiv diskutiert. Die folgende Hypothesenüberprüfung dient einerseits einer gründlichen Aufarbeitung des Forschungsthemas andererseits der Überleitung zur Darstellung und Analyse relevanter akademischer Ausbildungsmöglichkeiten. Die Arbeit schließt mit einem umfassenden Resümee sowie persönlichem Schlußwort des Autors.
