Documents the challenges and successes of a black and white photography project with third grade students, in an independent, New York City school. The project had the following goals: 1) explore aspects of New York City as represented by other photographers 2) share visions of the city through photography and writing 3) become familiar with film photography 4) develop media and literacy skills. As students became more comfortable with the medium they were able to apply and bend rules to achieve their own unique perspective on the city.
