Not that Kind of Good Guy
Conspiracy Theories Meet Superhero Reality ALL IT TAKES It’s there for anyone to see: There are dark forces at work on the world, working to destroy civilization. All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to stand by and do nothing. We need a good guy. NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES—BUT SOME DO For a generation, individuals have arisen with super powers, able to change the course of history, or at least save a few lives. But these people have free will—and not all choose to work for the forces of good. We need someone with an unblotted escutcheon, a Galahad for the 21st Century, someone pure of ethics and morality. NOT THAT KIND OF GOOD GUY What we get is Michael: the product of a broken childhood, raised in the foster system of one of America’s most dangerous inner cities, his wisdom comes from drug addicts and whores. Maybe he’s not the hero we asked for, but he’s the hero we need. And he’s about to hit puberty. At the publisher''s request, this title is sold without DRM (Digital Rights Management).

Through the Storm
"Augmented Reality" game Transdimensional Hunter seems too real for comfort as the world of the game merges with reality. Now, teenage game prodigy Lynn Raven will have to conquer the game or be destroyed by it. REALITY BITES—AND IT HAS BIG TEETH Becoming a global celebrity overnight would make most people happy. Not Lynn Raven. As a teenage gaming prodigy, she’s enjoyed years of anonymity behind the virtual mask of Larry Coughlin, war-hardened vet and virtual gaming mercenary. But now Lynn has stepped out of the shadows to compete in the cutting-edge augmented reality game TransDimensional Hunter that has taken the world by storm. And she’s winning. But with success has come swarms of paparazzi drones, jealous teammates, and a backstabbing rival team that will use any trick in the book to ruin her. Then there’s the game itself. At times, the “augmented” reality seems too real for Lynn’s comfort, and strange accidents keep happening. Something is going on; she just has to figure out what. Lynn would much rather fight monsters than do paparazzi interviews, but somehow she’ll have to master both—and pass her senior year to boot. She managed to step into the real, but will the storm of reality now defeat her for good? At the publisher’s request, this title is sold without DRM (Digital Rights Management). Praise for Into the Real: “The disturbing realism is balanced by dangerous monsters, clever tactics, explosive action, and a compelling twist at the end . . . immersive, highly technical near-future sf; perfect for dedicated gamers or for fans of Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One.” —Library Journal “I found myself enjoying the story and Raven’s relationship with the AI that’s her guide in the game, and I was invested throughout. It wasn’t so much a coming-of-age story as a growing into and appreciating one’s own skin . . . I’m really looking forward to how things will play out from here.” —The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction “Ringo and Sherrer have created a modern day Ender’s Game using the technology of Pokémon Go . . . The characters are vivid and interesting, and the action is strong enough to carry you along.” —Upstream Reviews “The futuristic world of the gamers and the game itself will interest sf readers. . . . YA: Teens will relate to Lynn, the main character, and if they are gamers, they will enjoy her gamer and VR adventures.” —Booklist Praise for John Ringo: “. . . the thinking reader’s zombie novel . . . Ringo fleshes out his theme with convincing details . . . the proceedings become oddly plausible.” —Publishers Weekly on Under a Graveyard Sky “[Ringo’s work is] peopled with three-dimensional characters and spiced with personal drama as well as tactical finesse.” —Library Journal “. . . practically impossible not to read in one sitting . . . exceedingly impressive . . . executed with skill, verve, and wit.” —Booklist “Crackerjack storytelling.” —Starlog

Live Free or Die, Second Edition

Live Free or Die, Second Edition
WILL THE PEOPLE OF EARTH BOW DOWN TO ALIEN OVERLORDS—OR WILL THEY FIGHT BACK? First Contact Was Friendly When aliens trundled a gate to other worlds into the Solar System, the world reacted with awe, hope, and fear. The first aliens to come through, the Glatun, turned out to be peaceful traders, and the world breathed a sigh of relief. Who Controls the Orbitals, Controls the World When the Horvath came through, they announced their ownership of us by dropping rocks on three cities and gutting them. Since then, they’ve held Terra as their own personal fiefdom. With their control of the orbitals, there’s no way to win and Earth''s governments have accepted the status quo. Live Free or Die To free the world from the grip of the Horvath is going to take an unlikely hero. A hero unwilling to back down to alien or human governments, unwilling to live in slavery, and with enough hubris, if not stature, to think he can win. Fortunately, there’s Tyler Vernon. And he has bigger plans than just getting rid of the Horvath. The Troy Rising series is a story in three parts—Live Free or Die being the first part—detailing the freeing of Earth from alien conquerors, the first steps into space using off-world technologies and the creation of Troy, a thousand-trillion-ton battle station designed to secure the Solar System. At the publisher’s request, this title is sold without DRM (Digital Rights Management). About John Ringo: “Ringo is sure to satisfy the most demanding action junkie.” —Publishers Weekly “[Ringo’s work is] peopled with three-dimensional characters and spiced with personal drama as well as tactical finesse.” —Library Journal

Black Tide Rising: The Graphic Novel

Black Tide Rising: The Graphic Novel
New York Times Bestseller John Ringo''s Epic Zombie Series, Adapted by Comics Legend Chuck Dixon! A THRILLING ADAPTATION OF THE BEST-SELLING BLACK TIDE RISING SERIES The media calls it the Pacific Flu. The CDC calls it H7D3, and it spreads like wildfire. The virus combines the worst symptoms of Rabies and the common Flu, and is suspected to be man-made. The first reports of feral, cannibalistic “zombie-like” symptoms were met with disbelief and skeptical amusement, but nobody’s laughing now. Scientists, backed by the world’s governments and its wealthiest institutions, race against the clock to develop a cure as infections rise and cities fall. A glimmer of hope appears as a vaccine is discovered, but its production requires harvesting the spinal tissue of the infected, a grim task that tests the limits of human morality. With no other choices apparent, time is quickly running out before hordes of infected overwhelm the last remaining bastions of civilization. In the first days of the outbreak, a college history professor receives a cryptic warning from a trusted source. Its baffling, yet unmistakable message translates as: “PACK UP, GET OUT, AND GO NOW!” Steve Smith and his family don’t waste any time; they leave their normal, comfortable lives behind to get ahead of the inevitable panic and survive the end of the world! At the publisher’s request, this title is sold without DRM (Digital Rights Management). BLACK TIDE RISING SERIES: Under a Graveyard Sky To Sail a Darkling Sea Islands of Rage and Hope Strands of Sorrow Black Tide Rising Voices of the Fall We Shall Rise At the End of the World At the End of the Journey The Valley of Shadows River of Night Praise for Black Tide Rising: The Graphic Novel: “A badass tale of the apocalypse, told John Ringo-style with an extra dose of awesome from Chuck Dixon! It isn''t just about the end of the world; it''s about what it takes to come out the other side.” —Larry Correia “So you think you''ve read every kind of zombie tale to be told? Wrong! Chuck Dixon and team pull out all the stops with Black Tide Rising and twist the genre on its ear by populating the story with characters you actually care about! That''s almost sacrilege! With Santacruz and Smith on the art chores, this is a must have for the horror and zombie fan. Your library is naked without it.” —Graham Nolan “Black Tide Rising would seem fantastical — except the last few years have proved otherwise. Illustrates the importance of free thinkers, being prepared, being vigilant, and having a plan! I want to be in the movie!” —Dean Cain “[D]elivers all the zombie action fans crave, plus sly allusions to a western culture that has lost its way. Even better? Some eye-popping panels you''ll want to blow up and frame for your movie room.” —Christian Toto “[A] terrific graphic novel that serves as both an allegory for our current COVID nonsense, as well as graphically (pardon the pun) depicting what a real viral pandemic would look like. Black Tide Rising strikes a blow for individual liberty and freedom, which is the only thing that stands in the way of the tyranny we are seeing established in the West, after its murderous run in Europe and the Far East.” —Nick Searcy About Black Tide Rising (anthology): “. . . an entertaining batch of . . . action-packed tales. Certainly, fans of Ringo’s particular brand of action-adventure will be pleased.” —Booklist “This anthology broadens Ringo’s Black Tide world, serving up doses of humanity amid the ravenous afflicted. Comedy has a place in this harsh reality, and these stories stir adventure and emotion at a frantic clip throughout. Zombie fiction fans will be thrilled.” —Library Journal About the Black Tide Rising Series: “Not only has Ringo found a mostly unexplored corner of the zombie landscape, he''s using the zombie frame to tackle a broader theme: the collapse and rebirth of civilization. The zombie scenes are exciting, sure, but its the human story that keeps us involved. A fine series.” —Booklist About Under a Graveyard Sky: “Ringo combines humor and horror in this strong series debut, the thinking reader’s zombie novel.” —Publishers Weekly About John Ringo: “[Ringo’s work is] peopled with three-dimensional characters and spiced with personal drama as well as tactical finesse.” —Library Journal “. . . Explosive. . . . fans . . . will appreciate Ringo’s lively narrative and flavorful characters.” —Publishers Weekly “. . . practically impossible not to read in one sitting . . . exceedingly impressive . . . executed with skill, verve, and wit.” —Booklist “Crackerjack storytelling.” —Starlog

The Valley of Shadows

release date: Nov 06, 2018
The Valley of Shadows
NEW NOVEL IN JOHN RINGO''S BLACK TIDE RISING SERIES From his corner office on the forty-fourth floor of the Bank of the Americas tower on Wall Street, Tom Smith, global managing director for security, could see the Statue of Liberty, Battery Park—and a ravening zombie horde. Officially, Smith was paid to preserve the lives and fortunes of employees, billionaires, and other clients. And with an implacable virus that turned the infected into ravenous zombies tearing through the city, the country, and the world, his job just got a lot harder. Good thing Smith, late of the Australian special forces, isn’t a man to give up easily. But saving civilization is going to take more than the traditional banking toolbox of lawyers, guns, and money. Smith needs infected human spinal tissue to formulate a vaccine—and he needs it by the truckload. To get it, he will have to forge a shady alliance with both the politicians of the City of New York and some of its less savory entrepreneurs. But all of his back-alley dealing may amount to nothing if he can’t stave off the fast-moving disease as it sweeps across the planet, leaving billions dead in its wake. And if he fails, his only fallback is an incomplete plan to move enough personnel to safe havens and prepare to restart civilization. What’s more, there are others who have similar plans—and believe it or not, they’re even less charitable than a Wall Street investment banker. Sooner or later Smith will have to deal with them. But first he has to survive the Fall. A New Novel in John Ringo’s best-selling Black Tide Rising zombie apocalypse series. Monster Hunter Memoirs: Saints
The No-Holds-Barred Final Entry in the Monster Hunter Memoirs Series from New York Times best-selling authors Larry Correia and John Ringo. "This is New Orleans." That mantra had rung in Chad Gadenier''s ears since his first day working in the Big Easy. Everything was different in New Orleans. The food. The climate. The monsters. Even the shadowy and reprehensible MCB was different. But that''s just the beginning. The real reason New Orleans is so different is a larval Great Old One growing day by day in power and just about ready to pop. If Chad can''t convince "the powers that be" to get involved not only New Orleans but the entire world is going to fall under the power of the nastiest of nasties. Now on the outs with the US Government and in exile from his usual job of saving the world, Chad must rally the forces of light against the coming darkness. The problem is one guy with a sword and a sub-gun isn''t going to solve this one. Fortunately, Chad''s made a few friends over the years. And the Fey hate Old Ones as much as God''s people, and they''re not about to give up this world without a fight. If the Saints don''t come marching in on this one . . . there won''t be a Final Battle. There will be a final massacre. Now, where''d he put that number for the ditzy fey princess . . . ? Osmdesátky v New Orleans? Peklo na Zemi! Ta pravá monster párty se koná jedině v New Orleans! Co je lepší než série o Lovcích monster od veleúspěšného autora, jako je Larry Correia? Spin-off té samé série zasazený do osmdesátých let, kde se náboji nešetří a o politické korektnosti skoro nikdo neslyšel. A umí z toho uvařit skvělou večeři, tedy pokud to někdo stihne včas zabít. A tím vším prochází Chad se svým věrným Truchlivým mečem a nebývalou volností. Ve městě zaplaveném příšerami a hoodoo totiž ani vládní dozor neumí zahlazovat všechny stopy a každý místní ví, kdy má začít utíkat. V New Orleans se totiž všechno dělá jinak.
