A report on the economic and fiscal consequences of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA; Public Law 111-148), signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010, and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act (Public Law 111-152). Several rationales were offered in support of this legislation, including that it would lead to the creation of jobs and the reduction of the federal budget deficit.
