At the Ocean's Edge
When journalist Meg Adamson is sent to interview bestselling author Cullen Walsh in the seaside town of Old Port, she's forced to confront the painful memories she left behind there-and finds herself swept into the kind of love story she's only ever written about in her private journal. Meg is determined to deliver the perfect piece to her editor. But being back in Old Port means remembering how her once-happy childhood ended when her parents' marriage fell apart, leaving wounds that never properly healed. As salt-sprayed walks along once-familiar shores and quiet conversations under starlit evenings begin to chip away at her defenses, Meg finds herself drawn to Cullen's quiet intensity and thoughtful nature. For a woman who's always kept her romantic dreams safely confined to the pages of her journal, the real-life connection with Cullen is both thrilling and terrifying. But when her demanding editor pushes Meg to expose the tragic family secrets behind Cullen's success-secrets he's desperate to protect-she faces an impossible choice between her career and the promise of a future with a man she's begun to care deeply about. As the deadline looms, should Meg risk her carefully constructed life for a chance at the love she's always imagined? Or retreat once more to the safety of the stories in her head? Renewed - Women's Bible Study Participant Workbook with Leader Helps
Lessons from Naomi in the Book of Ruth. Few things make us feel as helpless as living with a story we don’t like. Maybe one that involves the loss of a loved one, an unwanted transition, a difficult diagnosis, or a dream that fell through. At one time or another, we all deal with disappointments and feelings that life is unfair or that we are being punished. In Renewed, a four-week study of the Book of Ruth, women glean wisdom from Naomi’s perspective, a woman who lived a story she didn’t choose or like. Forced to chart a new path as she mourned the loss of her husband and two sons, Naomi learned that the journey from bitterness to renewed hope and joy was rooted in God’s promise of redemption. With insight from her own journey of living with a story that is not easy, Heather teaches women to flourish even as they live hard stories through a willingness to trust that God can transform them and trade their heartache for hope. They will learn to rely on God’s movement in the details of their story, even when it can’t be seen, gain confidence to act in the part of their stories that they can change, and watch expectantly for God to redeem the parts they can’t. Components for this four-week Bible study, available separately, include a Participant Workbook with Leader Helps and a DVD with four 20 to 25-minute segments (with closed captioning).

Illusionarium
What if the world holds more dangers—and more wonders—than we have ever known? And what if there is more than one world? From Heather Dixon, author of the acclaimed Entwined, comes a brilliantly conceived adventure that sweeps us from the inner workings of our souls to the far reaches of our imaginations. Jonathan is perfectly ordinary. But then—as every good adventure begins—the king swoops into port, and Jonathan and his father are enlisted to find the cure to a deadly plague. Jonathan discovers that he's a prodigy at working with a new chemical called fantillium, which creates shared hallucinations—or illusions. And just like that, Jonathan is knocked off his path. Through richly developed parallel worlds, vivid action, a healthy dose of humor, and gorgeous writing, Heather Dixon spins a story that calls to mind The Night Circus and Pixar movies, but is wholly its own.

Glucocorticoid-induced Myopathy is Mediated by Impaired Nitric Oxide Synthesis

Glucocorticoid-induced Myopathy is Mediated by Impaired Nitric Oxide Synthesis
In vitro treatment with the nitric oxide donor, DETA-NONO, restored satellite cell activity in myofibers isolated from glucocorticoid-treated mice to control levels. Additionally, we cultured L6 myotubes to study the acute effects of glucocorticoids. After 24h of treatment (100 micro M dexamethasone), the myotubes displayed 6-fold increased expression of MAFbx, a muscle specific ubiquitin ligase. Co-treatment with DETANONO or L-Arg blunted the effect. Following 48h of treatment myotubes dimensions were assessed. The glucocorticoid treatment reduced myotube area by over 50%. When DETANONO or L-Arg was added, myotube atrophy was significantly attenuated. Thus, NO may be a useful therapeutic target for opposing the negative effects of both acute and chronic glucocorticoid use.
