The Big Time
The Big Time Fritz Leiber - A war rages beyond space and time in this Hugo Awardwinning extraordinary tour de force from the acclaimed Master of Science Fiction and Fantasy (A Readers Guide to Science Fiction).Fritz Leiber (19101992) may be best known as a fantasy writer, but he published widely and successfully in the horror and science fiction fields. One of his major SF creations is the Change War, a series of stories and short novels about rival time-traveling forces locked in a bitter, ages-long struggle for control of the human universe where battles alter history and then change it again until there is no certainty about what might once have happened. The most notable work of the series is the Hugo Awardwinning novel The Big Time, in which doctors, entertainers, and wounded soldiers find themselves treacherously trapped with an activated atomic bomb inside the Place, a room existing outside of space-time. Leiber creates a tense, claustrophobic SF mystery, and a brilliant, unique locked-room whodunit. In addition to the Hugo, Nebula, Derleth, Lovecraft, and World Fantasy Awards, Fritz Leiber received the Grand Master of Fantasy (Gandalf) Award, the Life Achievement Lovecraft Award, and the Grand Master Nebula Award.

Martin’s Game of Thrones became a worldwide phenomenon, Fritz Leiber ruled the literary universe of sword and sorcery. The Swords of Lankhmar: With a plague of rats teeming in Lankhmar, Fafhrd and the Mouser are hired by the city to guard a shipment of grain overseas. Swords and Ice Magic: Fafhrd and Gray Mouser make their way by sword and stealth as they face death in many forms, earn the ire of gods whose names they rarely even speak in vain anymore, lazily drift on the Great Equatorial Current, and venture far into the icy wastes of the Rime Isle to confront a pair of deities and a pillaging fleet in this World Fantasy Award nominee.

The Adventures of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser Volume One
The Hugo and Nebula Award–winning series of swords and sorcery, featuring two unorthodox heroes, from a Grand Master of Science Fiction and Fantasy. Many decades before George R. R. Martin’s Game of Thrones, Grand Master Fritz Leiber ruled the sword-and-sorcery universe. These three short story collections chronicle the unconventional adventures of Leiber’s endearing antiheroes: barbarian Fafhrd and former wizard’s apprentice, the Gray Mouser. The two men meet on a night of multiple thieveries and an enduring partnership is born. Swords Against Death: Rogue swordsmen and devoted companions Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser pursue ill-gotten fortunes within the confines of Lankhmar. They cross paths with two wizards, Sheelba of the Eyeless Face and Ningauble of the Seven Eyes, and a most violent clash ensues. Eventually, following further adventures, the two antiheroes end up as indentured swordsman servants to their former foes. THE NIGHT OF THE LONG KNIVES (A Thrilling Post-Nuclear Dystopia)

release date: Feb 19, 2017
THE NIGHT OF THE LONG KNIVES (A Thrilling Post-Nuclear Dystopia)
This carefully crafted ebook: "THE NIGHT OF THE LONG KNIVES (A Thrilling Post-Nuclear Dystopia)" is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents. What do you do when in the aftermath of a nuclear holocaust the only way to survive is to kill or be killed? Two strangers, a man and a woman, come across each other in a hostile world where every life hangs by the thread. Instead of killing each other they decide to strike up a purely sexual relationship yet never losing the sight of their weapons. But things can never go as per plan when lust for blood runs higher than carnal lust. Will they survive? Or will they suffer the same gory end as that of the other victim who was murdered by the hero earlier? Interestingly the term "The Night of the Long Knives", was in reality, a military purge known as the Operation Hummingbird that took place in Nazi Germany from June 30 to July 2, 1934, when the Nazi regime carried out a series of political extrajudicial executions intended to consolidate Hitler''s absolute hold on power in Germany. Read on! Fritz Leiber (1910–1992) was an American writer of fantasy, horror, and science fiction. He was also a poet, actor in theater and films, playwright and chess expert. With writers such as Robert E. Howard and Michael Moorcock, Leiber can be regarded as one of the fathers of sword and sorcery fantasy, having in fact created the term.

Yet vows are made to be broken. Swords of Lankhmar

release date: Jul 02, 2012
Swords of Lankhmar
Drawing themes from Shakespeare, Edgar Allen Poe, and H.P Lovecraft, master manipulator Fritz Leiber is a worldwide legend within the fantasy genre, actually coining the term "Sword and Sorcery" that describes the sub-genre he helped create. Before THE LORD OF THE RINGS took the world by storm, Leiber''s fantastic but thoroughly flawed anti-heroes, Fafhrd and Gray Mouser, adventured and stumbled deep within the caves of Inner Earth as well, albeit a different one. They wondered and wandered to the edges of the Outer Sea, across the Land of Nehwon and throughout every nook and cranny of gothic Lankhmar, Nehwon''s grandest and most mystically corrupt city. Lankhmar is Leiber''s fully realized vivid incarnation of urban decay and civilization''s corroding effect on the human psyche. Fafhrd and Mouse are not innocents; their world is no land of honor and righteousness. It is a world of human complexities and violent action, of discovery and mystery, of swords and sorcery. THE SWORDS OF LANKHMAR finds the city characteristically plagued by rats. Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser are in the employ of Glipkerio, the overlord, to guard a grain ship on its journey. Along the way the rats on board stage a rebellion and threaten to take the ship until a two-headed sea monster saves the day. If only there were two-headed sea monsters everywhere, Lankhmar would be safe, too. Alas, upon returning to the city, the two discover that Lankhmar is controlled by rats. It is a city known for its thieves and swine, but even the city''s muddiest bottom feeders had never seen pillaging and plundering like this. And only the sorcerers Sheelba of the Eyeless Face and Ningauble of the Seven Eyes can scare this scourge. Mouser must shrink into the rat''s world and Fafhrd must unleash the feared feline War Cats. Then the fun really begins.

Bread Overhead

release date: Jun 01, 2011
Bread Overhead
"Bread Overhead" is a story Fritz Leiber could have written to send up today''s bewildering bread aisle -- all those claims of low-cal and low-low-carb. In fact, the story probably reads better now than it did in 1958, back when the choice came down to white or whole wheat. Leiber slyly imagines a near-future when giant machines not only harvest the wheat field, but grind flour and bake bread on the spot -- the ultimate in big farming. In this toasted tomorrow, the highly-mechanized Puffy Products is bent on producing the supremely lightest loaf. The story is what happens if bread isn''t just airy, but pumped full of lighter-than-air helium. Leiber (Ships to the Stars) didn''t often bake up such a souffle of spoof, but he''s a master in the kitchen. And "Bread Overhead" has just enough to say about human nature to be filling, besides.

Conjure Wife

release date: Sep 29, 2009
Conjure Wife
Professor Norman Saylor considered magic nothing more than superstition. Then he learned that his own wife was a practicing sorceress. But he still refuses to accept the truth...that in the secret occult warfare that governs our lives, magic is a matter of life and death. And that unbeknownst to men, every woman knows it. Filmed twice, as Weird Woman (1944) and Burn Witch Burn (1961), this tale of secret witchcraft on a modern college campus is as readable today as the day it was written.
