Tradition is a powerful thing, especially when it''s fueled by superstition. This summer, Bean and Ab''s adventures began with a riddle: Where was Minerva Webster buried? Twice a year Caitlin conducted a photographic tour of Europe - usually the Rhine region or Tuscany and, invariably, the Dordogne river valley. There was a purely mercenary reason for that, of course - these were places of such outrageous beauty that - providing one remembered to removed the lens cap - it was nearly impossible to take a bad picture, which made Caitlin a great teacher. Happy customers meant good word-of-mouth which, thanks to the internet, meant a harvest of bookings for the next trip.Usually, fellowship flowed with the wine the first night at the Chateau and, once the awkward interval following introductions gave way to the initial peel of laughter, everyone behaved as is they''d fallen among long-lost friends.Not this time. This group was different, and a more mismatched herd of human beings she couldn''t imagine. This became evident the first night at dinner, when, having left the table, Jeremy Farthing grinned evilly, and closed the door quietly behind him.Mrs. Wagner sniffed. While Ab falls under the influence of Dahab, a Middle Eastern princess summering on Penobscot Island, Maine, friends Bean and Spooky investigate strange occurrences on the uninhabited Burial Island.

This report is one of a number of case studies for a larger project: "A regional climate change decision framework for natural resource management". The objective of this larger study has been to work within the Adelaide Mt Lofty Ranges natural resource management region to undertake an assessment of key areas of natural resource management that are vulnerable to climate change, and develop and demonstrate methodologies for creating a regional framework for wider application in managing climate change risk and developing adaptation responses. The case studies were identified after an initial vulnerability analysis in the region. The case studies aim to examine specific methodologies in different natural resource management sectors to help develop a regional natural resource management response to climate change risk.

Bean and Ab are expecting to spend a normal, fun summer together on the Main island where Bean lives. Things quickly become exciting however, when Ab tells Bean that the Moses Webster House, the boarding house where she is staying with her parents, is haunted. What follows is a set of entertaining adventures as the two search for a buried treasure. But first they must find the secret tunnel connecting the Moses Webster House to the spooky Winthrop House, get past the sinister Maud Valliers, and dodge Bean''s nasty Cousin, Monty. A series of frightening and dangerous missteps leads them to a bizarre treasure - and even darker secrets. In the process they become heroes in their close-knit island community.
