General description of the collection: The Henry P. Duvall papers consist of a memoir of Duvall''s thirty-two years of military service in the United States (U.S.) Army. Duvall titled his memoirs "Part Time Soldier." He discusses his feelings toward the many commands he was assigned to and the demands that Reserve officers deal with during their careers. He points out lessons learned that he believes are relevant to current military personnel and how he learned leadership through experience, and from fellow soldiers. He points out several highlights in his career one of which was meeting and speaking with then Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Colin Powell. He praises career Reservists for being able to carry a civilian and military career at the same time.
