As we discover my ancestors of long ago, each one is special in his or her own way. From The Scottish Highlands, to the Lowlands we have my great grandfather Henry Bell Sr. and his son, my grandfather Henry Bell Jr. with his wife and son. Then we have three Scottish men to give honor to. My Grandfather Henry Bell jr. who served in WW1 and his son, Alfred L. Bell, my father who served in WW2. Now we will pay a special tribute to Jack Harris, a Scottish Highlander who is no relationship to me, but this man, severed in WW1 with my Grandfather Henry Bell Jr. They served and bonded, side by side in this War, till Jack Harris was shot in the back by a German sharpshooter. Then we move to London England to meet my relatives on my mother''s side. Her great grandfather Josh Nichols who served in WW1 as a Train Engineer, and his son, my grandfather Andy Nichols, with his son my Uncle Earl Nichols who served in WW2 in the Marines. Now I give to the world, my ancestors, whose life was bound by a legacy of faith and hope. Each one is part of the Greatest Generation. Bill Bell was a Nasa engineer for over 26 years. He is a published author. His first book is "My Space Odessey", the story about his time working in the space industry. Besides writing, Bill enjoys playing golf and has been very involved in his church missions. He has visited many countries doing missions work. Bill lives in Woodland Texas. He was married to his wife Susan for 30 years. They have 3 boys and 6 grandchildren.

My Space Odyssey began many years ago at my High School in Ingleside, Texas. On this night, our science class gathered together with our science teacher. We were to track a Russian Satellite, named Sputnik-1 across the sky. But my journey in Space and Faith really began as I was looking up at the unreachable Moon. The moon was a metaphor for the unattainable: "You might as well ask for the moon", they used to say. Now with Sputnik, my dreams can be a reality. Bill Bell wants to share his space and Faith journey with you. I was blessed on my journey by a loving God, who made each day at NASA an adventure and a dream come true. My career working for NASA began at the Saturn V Rocket Facility in New Orleans, La. It was here that I become friends with two rocket scientist. Their names are Wernher Von Braun, who was in charge of The Saturn V Rocket Program and a Russian Scientist named Rubin. I followed my dream by supporting NASA at Johnson Space Center, in the field of Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA). It has allowed me to work with Astronauts for their Spacewalks, Apollo Moon Missions, and the International Space Station.
