The Gift of Love

The Gift of Love
"Love is a gift from God, a sacred grace that invites us, indeed challenges us to respond with whatever capability we have within us to love God one another and his creation." With these words, Fr. Vladimir Berzonsky penetrates the sublime yet mysterious passages from the Song of Songs, I Corinthians and other books of the Bible which speaks of love. Much has been written in recent years about the differnce between erotic love called agape, which i both Christ-like and Christian; but it is the former type of love, according to Berzonsky, that conditions us for the latter. The Gift of Love suggests that we learn to love in stages, developing an ever greater power to become godlike in our affections, increasing our capacity to care less fo self and becoming filled with concern for God and all he made. The fifty-seven reflections in this book are written and intended to read separately, yet all deal with the underlying theme of love as expressed in the Bible.

Organometallic Compounds of Low-Coordinate Si, Ge, Sn and Pb

release date: Jul 22, 2011
Organometallic Compounds of Low-Coordinate Si, Ge, Sn and Pb
Until recently the low-coordinate compounds of the heavier elements of group 14 were known only as transient, unstable species which were difficult to isolate. However recent developments have led to the stabilisation of these compounds and today heavier group 14 element cations, radicals, anions, carbene analogues, alkene and alkyne analogues and aromatics have all been prepared as highly reactive, stable, fully characterizable and readily available organometallic reagents. Organometallic Compounds of Low-Coordinate Si, Ge, Sn and Pb describes the chemistry of this exciting new class of organometallics, with an emphasis on their major similarities and differences with the analogous species in organic chemistry. Topics covered include include the synthesis, structure, reactions and synthetic applications of : Si-, Ge-, Sn and Pb-centered cations, radicals and anions heavy analogues of carbenes: silylenes, germylenes, stannylenes and plumbylenes heavy analogues of alkenes: disilenes, digermenes, distannenes, diplumbenes heavy analogues of alkynes: disilynes, digermynes, distannynes, diplumbynes, and their valence isomers heteronuclear derivatives: silenes, germenes, stannenes, silagermenes, silastannenes, germastannenes heavy analogues of alkenes of the type: u003eE14=E13-, u003eE14=E15-, u003eE14=E16 [where E13, E14, E15 and E16 are elements of the groups 13, 14, 15 and 16] cyclic compounds (three-, four-, five-, and six-membered rings) heavy analogues of 1,3-dienes, allenes and other cumulenes heavy analogues of aromatic compounds; including a comparison between organometallic and organic aromaticity Organometallic Compounds of Low-Coordinate Si, Ge, Sn and Pb is an essential guide to this emerging class of organometallic reagents for researchers and students in main group, organometallic, synthetic and silicon chemistry

Hephaestus Reloaded
Each of the contributions in this book addresses - through its own peculiar perspective, method and experimental style - a new way to approach the role of transcendence in socio-cultural life.In the Occidental history of ideas, the notion of transcendence has received at least three canonical articulations that are challenged by this book: religious (Judeo-Christian traditions), philosophical (Platonic-intellectual universality of ideas), and scientific (the objective and technological turn of knowledge). Nonetheless, it is with the rise of cybernetics, with its digital and virtual modalities of systems, networks, and knowledge, that our human environment emerges as a source of knowledge in itself --.

Rethinking Missio Dei among Evangelical Churches in an Eastern European Orthodox Context
Following a paradigm shift in his own personal understanding of mission, Vladimir Ubeivolc proposes the adoption of mission principles based on missio Dei to meet the social and spiritual needs of people in Moldova. Biblically grounded and insightful, the lessons to be learned from this book apply far beyond Eastern Europe. Dr Ubeivolc uses his knowledge from six years of research, twenty years of pastoral ministry and a lifetime of experience to summarize the landscape of the Moldovan Evangelical and Orthodox churches and their historical approaches to mission. His evaluation emphasizes the need for a biblical foundation to mission for Eastern European Evangelical churches. This book’s message is a timely, scholarly reminder of the need to pursue holistic mission if the church of Jesus Christ is to be an authentic and effective vessel to bring transformation to people’s lives and society.

Trustworthy Compilers

release date: Mar 08, 2010
Trustworthy Compilers
The Most Complete, Real-World Guide to Compiler Development—and the Principles of Trustworthy Compilers Drawing on the author''s over thirty years of expertise in compiler development, research, and instruction, Trustworthy Compilers introduces and analyzes the concept of trustworthy compilers and the principles of trustworthy compiler development, and provides analytical overview of other promising research works in this area. Vladimir Safonov shares the benefit of his long experience as a teacher and compiler development professional to explain that—even in such a well-studied area as compilers—there is still an opportunity for original results, efficient algorithms, and promising research and development. Tupolev Tu-144

release date: Jan 01, 2005
Tupolev Tu-144
The rapid development of commercial aviation in the 1950s and 1960s, coupled with advancing aircraft technology, led Great Britain and France to pool resources to create the famous supersonic Concorde airliner. As soon as the Soviet government got wind of this program, it tasked the national aircraft industry with an even more ambitious project: the Soviet Union was to create an SST entirely on its own v and ahead of the West; this was a matter of national prestige. Predictably, Andrey N. Tupolev received the assignment to create the airliner that would place the Soviet Union in the lead. At the cost of a tremendous research and development effort, the target was met v designated Tu-144 (and dubbed, rather mockingly, Concordski by the West), the Soviet SST took to the air in December 1968 ahead of its Anglo- French counterpart. This book gives a detailed account of the Tu-144''s design and explains the reasons of its premature withdrawal; it also describes the type''s recent use in a new-generation SST technology research program held jointly with NASA. It is illustrated with numerous previously unreleased photos and line drawings.
