Remnant: Star Wars Legends
As the bloodied and weary galaxy faces battle once more, the Jedi take on the formidable task of bringing the last of the Empire into the light. . . . From the ashes of the New Republic—torn to shreds by the savage Yuuzhan Vong forces—the newly formed Galactic Alliance has risen, determined to bring peace to the entire galaxy. But first the Yuuzhan Vong must be contained once and for all. And so Luke Skywalker seeks a world long lost to legend: Zonama Sekot, a sentient planet believed to have repelled an invasion by the Yuuzhan Vong decades ago. Deciphering the enigmatic secrets of Zonama Sekot just might turn the tides of a relentless war. Aboard the Jade Shadow, Luke, his wife Mara, Jacen Solo, and other Jedi head off into the Unknown Regions, where rumors and clues suggest Zonama Sekot might be found. Yet the mission has barely begun when the searchers stumble into a horrific battle. The Imperial Remnant, in retreat from the mighty Yuuzhan Vong, is about to be destroyed. It would seem those aboard the Jade Shadow have little choice but to leave the Empire to its fate. But these are no ordinary space travelers, they are Jedi. . . .

release date: Jan 01, 2001
The Sound of the Ancestral Ship
This book examines the ways in which the urban aristocratic Sundanese of West Java recall the rural past of their ancestors through performances of the tembang Sunda ensemble (voice, zithers, and bamboo flute). This is the first book on Indonesian music that focuses on a non-gamelan ensemble as well as the first book to highlight Sundanese cosmological and cultural practices through an examination of musical performance. It reveals some of the musical tensions and points of connection between men and women, rural people and urbanites, and the classes. Illustrated with photographs and brief musical examples, this book also includes a CD.

Millimeter and Submillimeter Wavelength Studies of Nitric Acid's Nu 6, Nu 7 and Nu 8

release date: Sep 01, 1997
Millimeter and Submillimeter Wavelength Studies of Nitric Acid's Nu 6, Nu 7 and Nu 8
Millimeter and submillimeter-wave studies have been performed on the HNO3 molecule by means of a FAst Scan Submillimeter Spectroscopic Technique (FASSST). An ISTOK OB-30 BWO was used to take fast scans of the region 245-370 GHz. Over 500 spectral lines due to rotational transitions have been assigned for the HNO3 or nitric acid in the nu6, nu7, and nu8, vibrational states. A watson S- and A- reduced Hamiltonian and non-linear least squares fitting procedures were used in the analysis of the measured HNO3 lines. The rotational constants and rms deviations for each vibrational mode are reported.
