At first this appears to be a book about Arkansas; however, it contains a primary source of information about Philip "Buckspike" Williams on pages 199 and 201-202 (See the index). The author, Sam Hardin Williams, was a great nephew to Philip and retells stories heard by his grandfather. Philip Williams and his wife Anne are buried at Volga. Philip was provided a headstone by the Daughters of the American Revolution. Philip has many descendants in and around Johnson County. There is a lot of speculation about his history and this is one of the few sources documented in the 19th century.
