Buffy the Vampire Slayer Omnibus Volume 1

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Omnibus Volume 1
The definitive comics collection of all things Buffy starts here. This first massive volume begins at the beginning—The Origin, a faithful adaptation of creator Joss Whedon''s original screenplay for the film that started it all. The newly chosen Slayer''s road to Sunnydale continues in Viva Las Buffy and Slayer, Interrupted. Next, Sunnydale, the Scoobies, and an English librarian lead the way into Season 1 continuity. Plus, The Goon creator Eric Powell provides pencils to All''s Fair, featuring Spike and Drusilla at the 1933 World''s Fair. The smash TV hit Buffy the Vampire Slayer led to nearly a decade of comics at Dark Horse—including multiple specials, one-shots, and guest miniseries. This omnibus series is the ultimate compilation of the Buffy comics Dark Horse has published, and runs along the TV series'' timeline. A fitting companion to Whedon''s comics-based relaunch of the show.

Construction Documents Using SketchUp Pro and LayOut

release date: Sep 22, 2013
Construction Documents Using SketchUp Pro and LayOut
Construction Documents using SketchUp Pro & LayOut by Paul Lee shows professionals & enthusiasts how to tie all the parts of SketchUp Pro together to produce drawings that were traditionally the domain of CAD.For the first time, by using Paul Lee''s methodology it is possible to produce fully-fledged construction files from 3D model-centred information.Create wire-frames of your model that describe the "CAD" detail. Learn how to make this information appear in plan, section and elevation scenes. Then use this information in LayOut to create top quality construction files.NOTE: The exercises in this book are concentrated into the creation of a simple set of drawings of a table in plan, section and elevation. This is a microcosm of the means by which larger drawings can then be produced. The companion SketchUp and LayOut samples for download illustrate this point. Filtering Institutional Logics

Filtering Institutional Logics
Although many recent studies have emphasized the multiplicity of institutional logics and the competition among them, how some institutional logics become prioritized over others in shaping organizational decisions is undertheorized. Drawing on panel data of 118 industrial facilities across 34 communities in Texas and Louisiana, we show that the saliency of different kinds of community logics significantly affects environmental practices -- specifically, toxic waste emissions -- of facilities in a community. Our results show that community logics not only have direct effects but also have indirect effects by filtering organizational reactions to broader field-level institutional logics. We theorize how community logics can amplify or dampen the influence of broader field-level logics and discuss the implications for the study of institutional complexity, social movements, and values in the configuration of institutional logics.

Dynamical Core Deformationeffects on Single-nucleon Knockoutreactions at Fragmentation Beamenergies

Dynamical Core Deformationeffects on Single-nucleon Knockoutreactions at Fragmentation Beamenergies
The effects of core deformation and of its dynamical reorientation and rotational excitation on the inclusive single-neutron knockout reaction cross sections on light spherical nuclei are examined. The projectile nuclei are modeled within the framework of a weak-coupling, quadrupole-deformed core-plus-neutron two-body model. We formulate the inclusion of this non-spectator-core degree of freedom within the nonperturbative eikonal model and calculate the diffractive break up and stripping neutron-removal cross sections. We apply the methods to model the single-neutron removal reactions induced by llBe and 17e secondary fragmentation beams incident on a 9Be target. Our calculations indicate that dynanllcal deformation effects on the diffractive break up component of the knockout cross section can be significant.

Protecting Public Shareholders
The recent mid-stream recapitalization of Google introducing a class of non-voting shares raises certain questions about controlling shareholder opportunism and the adequacy of our current system in protecting the rights of public shareholders. This Note argues that the settlement of the class action suit on behalf of Google''s public shareholders did not do enough to address the harm they suffered, and examines options for how the law in Delaware may be adapted to provide adequate protection for public shareholders.

Measurement of Tensile Forces in Xenopus Laevis Neural Tissue

Measurement of Tensile Forces in Xenopus Laevis Neural Tissue
Neurulation is critical for the proper development of the central nervous system during embryogenesis. This process requires coordinated morphogenetic movements driven by localized cell movements. The key morphogenetic process responsible for lengthening the neural plate is convergent extension. During convergent extension medially oriented cell polarity, protrusive activity, and motility are thought to generate forces through cell intercalation resulting in stiffer elongating tissues. My research determines that forces that help shape the neural plate arise from morphogenetic movements in the neural tissue and determines PCP signaling regulates tissue stiffness in the neural ectoderm. We have established an experimental system sensitive enough to evaluate the stiffness of Xenopus neural tissue. Stiffness is measured by gluing two fine wires onto neural explants from an early gastrula stage Xenopus laevis embryo. The wires stretch the tissue at a constant strain rate using a real-time image-based feedback system and stiffness is determined by measuring the deflection of one wire. Measurements obtained from control embryos prior to neurulation estimate tissue stiffness at approximately 12.7 " 0.53 mN/m in both mediolateral and anteroposterior directions. Stiffness measurements double in early neurula embryos (P
