Details of a patchwork quilt worked by Aboriginal children in Western Australia under the tutoring of Miss Elizabeth Irwin. The quilt was presented by Mrs Mary Willis to L. S. Lake, Liaison Officer, Commonwealth National Library. Miss Willis provided the Library with the notes on the quilt. Letter concerning the quilt and other acquisitions by L. S. Lake to Mr H. L. White, Librarian, Commonwealth National Library.

Author presumed to be Mary Rogers Willis Taylor (1789-1869), the widow mentioned in the Charleston Courier, 4 December 1806: "Married, on Tuesday last, by the Rev. Mr. Bowen, Mr. Joseph Taylor, to Mrs. Mary Willis; both of this city"; buried in Magnolia Cemetery in Charleston, with a marker that identifies her as a native of England.
