He married Kristina Sophia Johannesdötter (1853-1923), daughter of Johann Peter Nilsson and Anna Cathrina Svensdötter, 23 November 1874 in Lemnhult, Småland, Sweden. They had thirteen children. They emigrated in 1902 and settled in Jamestown, New York. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Sweden and New York. They changed their name to Jones.
