Ina Garten
Ina Garten is an American author and host of the Food Network program Barefoot Contessa, and a former staff member of the White House Office of Management and Budget.Garten had no formal training; she taught herself culinary techniques with the aid of French and New England cookbooks. Later, she relied on intuition and feedback from friends and customers to refine her recipes. She was mentored primarily by Eli Zabar, owner of Eli''s Manhattan and Eli''s Breads, and food-show host and author Martha Stewart. Among her dishes are coeur à la crème, celery root remoulade, pear clafouti, and a simplified version of beef bourguignon. Her culinary career began with her gourmet food store, Barefoot Contessa; Garten then expanded her activities to several best-selling cookbooks, magazine columns, self-branded convenience products, and a popular Food Network television show.

Union Shareholder Activism in the Context of Declining Labour Law Protection
In the face of declining prominence and influence under industrial relations laws regulating Australian workplaces, Australian trade unions appear increasingly to be directing their attention to Corporations Law as a mechanism for pursuing union and employee “voice” within corporate business organisation. This paper undertakes an examination of four recent “union shareholder” campaigns, the circumstances in which they were undertaken, the objectives of the “union shareholder” strategies and the outcomes of the campaigns. The paper also opens up for consideration whether union shareholder activism is merely a new strategy for pursuing conventional industrial aims, or whether it potentially represents a move by unions to identify themselves as “insiders” with a dual interest in the profitability and governance of the corporation as both shareholders and stakeholders.

The Curve of the Earth

The Curve of the Earth
The Curve of the Earth is a collection of poems the moves around the moments in every day life, to define and explore the surprise of feeling in the most ordinary occurrences. The introductory essay, An Eye without an I is a discussion of how I have come to understand the placement of narrative voice within the intention of the poem, and how with the conversational aspect of poetry engaged--of the writer and reader being essential to the in and out breath of a poem--the poem awakens to stretch beyond the language of the everyday, to reach something deeper.
