Spotlight on Fact

release date: Sep 20, 2002
Spotlight on Fact
Spotlight on Fact is a programme for the whole primary school. It matches the National Literacy Framework Non Fiction Flyers for schools and ICT Guidance requirements. At the heart of the programme are 48 information books. These demonstrate how seven different types of non-fiction text are written and presented: recount, report, procedure, explanation, persuasion, discussion, alphabetic and real text (primary source documents). There is one of each text type per year. The books fit all the cross curricular requirements of the National Curriculum. Finally, each year''s books reflect the theme chosen for that year such as: the seaside or our environment. Each year''s provision has accompanying support material of a teacher''s resource, writing frames, big books and a CD-ROM. The CD-ROM contains an ICT non-fiction text, print and read only, version of the teacher''s resource, manipulable writing frames and electronic versions of the big books.
