"A Switch In Time" is a delightful adventure story filled with historical, spiritual, and futuristic themes, intertwined with the lives of three engaging characters- Modern Kaitlynn, old fashion Hattie and a dyslexic guardian angel, Angela. Born on May 11th, Kaitlynn was sent to earth in 1891 and Hattie to earth in 1981- to the wrong parents and era. In Heaven, ALL is happening at the same time, but here on Earth, time is pretty specific. Angela explains how babies are ''pre-programmed'' before birth, but Kaitlynn and Hattie have to live their pre-program in the wrong place and time. This creates many obstacles for both girls and their parents and the people they meet along the way. The differences in PFM activity between the continent and incontinent women were more marked during functional activities. The significant correlation between the measurements of bladder neck elevation during PFM contraction and measurements of PFM strength, support the use of ultrasound in the assessment of PFM function. The moderate correlation between measurement tools suggests a combination of assessment tools is required to evaluate the different aspects of PFM function. The results of this doctoral research add to the body of research on the evaluation of PFM function. Twenty three percent of the women in this study were performing PFM exercises incorrectly. PFM exercises are not simplistic. All muscles surrounding the abdomino-pelvic cavity need to be considered when doing a PFM contraction. Assessment of the PFM should included assessment of the voluntary PFM contractions and the functional activation of the PFM. Individual PFM assessment and training with a skilled practitioner is recommended in the management of urinary incontinence. This thesis forms a basis for future research into understanding the role of the PFM in continence.

This story is a historical fiction, based on three characters, Uncle Jake, Aunt Sallie and Uncle Doby, who came to central Florida as early pioneers in 1883. As with any pioneer, they faced moments of danger from the deep creeks and untamed swamps; but, they also had fun times living the simple life. Many of the events are true, but all could have happened considering the location and the time period. It should be very helpful to the students of pioneer history.
