And finds himself reborn in an astounding new realm. Traumatised by separation from his family, nation and world, Hector finds it hard to accept the prospect of a new life. His rigid codes of honour and loyalty make him feel as if he has abandoned his war-ravaged home. The beautiful Elsha of the Nemalite people, introduces him to an Elysium of kindness, harmony and magic, where living gods can walk among mortals. The Trojan Prince is enraptured by his new friend and the apparent miracles around him, and at first believes this world is perfect. He gradually learns of a grotesque force which holds the Nemalites under a thrall of fear and hopelessness. Hector cannot stand by and watch the horrors around him - he acts to save his new friends... But the result of his efforts is not peace, rather the unleashing of a menace that plunges Elysium into hellish turmoil. Guilty of the murder of innocents and hated by his companions, Hector fights to curtail the disaster he has caused. Against him stands an army of Shaltine - supernatural warriors which exude an aura of Fear, rendering all opponents helpless. Countless lives, both on Elysium and back on Hector's home world, are threatened by a fate far worse than death. And amid all the chaos, desperation and destruction, there awaits a malevolent revelation for Hector... Something so awful it may destroy Hector's sanity before it takes his life. Volume II After being slain in the epic Trojan War, Prince Hector found himself reborn on an extraordinary new world. He befriended the Nemalite people, lived among them, met their Viron gods... and set out to save the Nemalites from the vicious threat of the Atlans... But everything since his rebirth had been lies and manipulations. His attack upon the Atlans plunged those innocents into hellish turmoil and condemned many to a fate far crueller than death. Now Hector fights alongside the surviving Atlans in an effort to undo the terrible harm he has unleashed. Despite the Atlans hating and condemning him, he teaches them how to fight the Nemalites' Shaltine warriors and gains the trust of the Atlan queen Nafron. However, a disastrous battle seems to shatter the Atlans' hopes - leaving Hector and Nafron hunted by hundreds of their enemies... Hector's Atlan comrades foresee their own defeat, followed by the conquest of Hector's world. They are outnumbered, outmatched and demoralised. How can they overcome: The Nemalites, who can forge armies with magic... The Shaltine - giant, fearless, tireless automatons... The Viron, the malevolent living gods of the Nemalites, deep beneath the impenetrable city of Vir... And, worst of all, the resurrected Achilles - the monstrous Greek warrior who brutally slaughtered Hector in the Trojan War..? Hector has learned of the genocide of his own people at Troy. He is determined to prevent such an atrocity being committed upon the Atlans and across his own world. His strength comes from a burning desire for retribution. There is no sacrifice he will not make and no torment he will not endure, in order to succeed... Can he possibly save two worlds? This volume concludes the saga of Hector Reborn.

Zombie Horde
Four years ago, the Earth began to bleed - and a zombie plague infested our world... Ed, once a comic book writer and a drunk, is now a seasoned veteran of the apocalypse. With his tough-as-nails friend Marie, he joins a small team on a supply run into hostile territory. When disaster strikes, their armoured truck is destroyed and the group find themselves on foot - far from any safe haven... and hunted by a flesh-hungry horde of the undead. Their sole chance of finding a new vehicle means a hazardous four mile trek. Areas of vegetation have become jungles. Lethal pools of Earth's Blood block their path. Zombies are closing-in from all directions. Every conflict diminishes their supplies of ammunition. They grow exhausted, are hampered by injury and must endure the sheer, relentless horror of their pursuers... In a devastating climax, Ed and his companions face a battle for survival: a handful of the living against almost two hundred thousand of the ravenous undead. Can any of them possibly overcome such odds? Zombie Horde is the first Short Tale in the new series 'The Earth Bleeds' - from the author of God Of War and his best-selling Short Horror Tales. Here are some reviews from the author's horror releases: "...thoroughly spooky, enticing and well written from start to finish." "...great... I could feel the fear..." (Glancing Blow - Short Horror Tales #1) "Great short story..." (Ignition Source - Short Horror Tales #4) "...well-written, descriptive and enthralling page-turner, that's not for the faint-hearted... The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat..." (God Of War) "...extremely well written and very dark. Validation of New Crack Monitoriing Technique for Victoria Class High-pressure Air Bottles

release date: Jan 01, 2014
Validation of New Crack Monitoriing Technique for Victoria Class High-pressure Air Bottles
High-pressure (HP) air bottles are used in the Victoria class submarines for emergency air and displacing water in the ballast tanks during surfacing. The vital nature of these activities means that the integrity of HP air bottles is critical to safe operation. As such, measures must be taken to ensure fracture or leakage is avoided. Currently, the bottles are periodically inspected and damaged bottles are removed from service. This document covers the validation of the use of externally mounted strain gauges to monitor further growth of cracks of a limited size. Finite element analyses of experimental samples similar to air bottles were conducted using the same modelling techniques used by BMT Fleet Technology. The results of the finite element analyses were compared to experimental results. Digital image correlation (DIC) was used in the experiments and its use, associated challenges, and potential future uses are discussed.
