G.F. Turner Correspondence
The fonds consists of Turner''s handwritten diary (November 13, 1911 - May 13, 1912). Much of the diary refers to his construction activities and to the political events of the time. He was involved in the construction of new buildings in Peking at the time of the Chinese Revolution (1911-1912). The diary is written in a copying book that interleaves an "onion skin"-type paper with regular paper to allow for the creation of a copy. In this instance the copies appear to have been sent to his family - the first entry is dated November 12-13, 1911 and is addressed to "Mother dearest & all."
