Who Murdered Mom

release date: Feb 01, 2008
Who Murdered Mom
A Legal Drama, Arbitration, Dedicated to A.D.R. (Use this, Frank thinks it''s important for marketing) Who Murdered Mom? Who didn''t? Margaret Largostern (Mom), owner and operator of a Washington DC PR firm, specialized in the export of espionage and political corruption across continents-from the Caribbean and South America to Africa, Europe and Asia. The sole beneficiary of her untimely death is her husband, Edward, a five-time serial widower, sometime homosexual adulterer and current claimant to Margaret''s two-million dollar life insurance policy. Meanwhile, between final university examinations, Cynthia, his daughter, is dragged ever deeper into her parents'' past shady activities. These include the dubious circumstances surrounding the deaths of Edward''s numerous ex-spouses. Because Edward is operating under a rather broad \"shadow of suspicion\" concerning Margaret''s death, he consents to a process of arbitration with the insurance company in order to expedite settlement. That turns up an ever-accelerating cascade of evidence uncovering the nefarious, the humorous and (of course) the unexpected, as the story concludes with the grand finale exposing - who, indeed, benefits by the death of Mom? The author, Frank Warren Swacker, was born May 18, 1922 in Manhattan. He is a retired second generation Wall Street lawyer. This is his second murder mystery. It has been written primarily for entertainment with the coordinating editorial assistance of his wife, Irene. During his professional life, he served as an arbitrator in many complex international and domestic disputes involving the airline, petroleum and other industries including corporate finance and securities. He is a recipient of the Martin Domke International Arbitration Award from the American Arbitration Association. Mr. Swacker served as an arbitrator on cases pending before the US Superior Court for the District of Columbia. Currently he is a member of the International and Florida Panels of Distinguished Neutrals of the CPR International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution, the Panel of Neutrals of the National Arbitration Forum, and the Name Domain Neutrals Panel of the United Nations WIPO under jurisdiction of the World Court. Mr. Swacker has written many articles on arbitration that appear in professional journals and is the lead author of a two volume work, World Trade Without Barriers: The World Trade Organization (W.T.O.) and Dispute Resolution. He received his B.A. (Economics) degree from Union College, a Juris Doctor from The University of Virginia School of Law and a LL.M. (International Law) from New York University Graduate School of Law.

Honour Satisfied
"This is [Frank Warren''s] diary; a vivid and detailed account illegally written down from memory soon after the events occurred. Warren''s appreciation of detail makes this fascinating document a remarkable source of absorbing eye-witness material. In these pages we read of the horror of the Somme battlefield soon after the grim and costly infantry fighting had ground to a halt and of his next tour of duty in the Ypres Salient, which he describes as ''a wilderness and a solitary place, nothing whole remains'' ... Warren''s accounts of the blowing of the bridge on the Somme canal and the rescue of the guns at Mercourt are wonderful set-piece depictions, among the most graphic of all reports of battlefield events. Together with descriptions of soldiers dangling their legs from railway waggons on their way to the front and of bully-beef tins being thrown from hand to hand in the front line, this is a ... evocative account of war"--Jacket.
