La noticia de su regreso ilusiona a Osito con la idea de conocer una sirena; y con él, otros animales van a recibirle, aunque de la sirena no haya más rastro que la hipótesis de unas burbujas en el agua y el rumor del mar en una caracola. En eso se entretienen Osito y sus amigos cuando al protagonista le da un ataque de hipo que todos intentan ayudarle a superar aunque, en el intento, rompan la serenidad con la que Papá Oso lee su periódico.
