The A to Z of Marxism covers the history of Marxism and all its thinkers and schools of thought in a comprehensive manner. This is done, through a chronology, an introductory essay, a bibliography, and hundreds of cross-reference dictionary entries on basic terms and concepts, significant thinkers and doers, and also the parties and countries that followed it.

It's Time to Call a Spade a Spade
A major culture war is raging in America. The battleground includes issues such as abortion, homosexuality, and evolution. The debate continues over whether America was established as a Christian nation and what this thing called "separation of church and state" really means. Some even debate the truth and trustworthiness of the greatest book ever written, the Bible. Most Christians instinctively know what is right but are ill equipped to stand for it, because they do not have the facts. This book will give you the facts that support the truth and thus equip you with the tools you need to stand for what''s right. It is time to cut through the prevailing barrage of misinformation and stand for truth based upon the facts. It is time to look clearly at the issues that threaten the fabric of American society and to rise up and call a spade a spade. David Walker is a teacher who became a pastor. He pastored the same church for twenty-eight years, during which time the church grew from 55 to over 500 members. He also started a Christian school that grew to over 500 students. He has a bachelor''s degree and a master''s degree and has completed all the work for his doctorate except for the dissertation. For twelve years, David taught American history, world history, government, and economics in high schools in Indiana, Ohio, and Florida. His doctoral work consisted of a major in American history with cognates in political science and educational psychology. David has traveled extensively preaching crusades and training pastors on four continents. He has conducted crusades and pastor-training seminars in a number of places in India and Nigeria. The Making of the Inclusive School

release date: Apr 19, 2006
The Making of the Inclusive School
Inclusion is a buzzword of the 1990s. Politicians now stress their commitment to inclusion and social justice - not competition. For schools, inclusion means accepting and educating all children, irrespective of their difficulties. The new inclusive mood is about including everyone in society''s institutions. It has created a growing demand for schools to find effective ways of including and teaching all children - even those who at one time would have been sent to special schools. The book combines a theoretical examination of inclusion and its rationale with the story of a group of schools in which teachers, assistants and children have striven to make inclusion happen. This new book * explores the arguments for inclusive schools * examines the international evidence about children''s well-being and academic progress in inclusive schools * describes how the pioneers have developed their practice for inclusion * presents the findings of an in-depth 18 month study of a group of schools which have striven to make inclusion happen

Homeland security proposal for cabinet agency has merit, but implementation will be pivotal to success
This report discusses the reorganization of government agencies and the reorientation of their missions to improve our nation''s ability to better protect our homeland. It is important to recognize that this transition to a more effective homeland security approach is part of a larger transformation that the government must make to address emerging fiscal, economic, demographic, scientific, technological and other challenges of the 21st century and to meet the expectations of the American people for timely, quality and cost-effect public service. This report focuses on two major issues that Congress should review in deliberations on creating a new cabinet department principally dedicated to homeland security (1) the need for reorganization and the principles and criteria to help evaluate what agencies and missions should be included in or left out of the new Dept. of Homeland Security and (2) issues related to the transition, cost and implementation challenges of the new department.

In this new edition of the Appeal, the distinguished historian Sean Wilentz draws on a generation of innovative research to throw fresh light on Walker''s life and ideas--and their enduring importance.

David Walker's Appeal, in Four Articles
In 1829 David Walker, a free black born in Wilmington, North Carolina, wrote one of America''s most provocative political documents of the nineteenth century, Walker''s Appeal to the Coloured Citizens of the World. Decrying the savage and unchristian treatment blacks suffered in the United States, Walker challenged his ''afflicted and slumbering brethern'' to rise up and cast off their chains. Walker worked tirelessly to circulate his book via underground networks in the South, and he was so successful that Southern lawmakers responded with new laws cracking down on ''incendiary'' anti-slavery material.

Medieval Wales

release date: Jun 28, 1990
Medieval Wales
This book provides an introduction to the history of medieval Wales, with particular emphasis on political developments. It traces the growth of Welsh princely power, and the invasion and settlement of Welsh territories by Norman adventurers which resulted in the creation of the marcher lordships and the steady erosion of Welsh princely authority in the south. The subsequent development of a powerful Welsh state under the leadership of the princes of Gwynedd was checked by Edward I in 1277, and thereafter the principality was deliberately overrun and destroyed: the Edwardian castles are symbols of conquest. Despite valiant attempts by local leaders in the thirteenth century, and by a national leader Owain Glyn Dwr early in the fifteenth, the English domination of Wales persisted, even beyond the advent of the Tudor dynasty. This is the first comprehensive short textbook on medieval Wales to be written for school and university students. It will also attract anyone with a general interest in Celtic studies or in the centuries which played such a formative role in the development of the Welsh national character.
