Five letters, 30 January 1796 - May 1812, written by itinerant London merchant David Shaw, originating from Great Britain (London and Manchester), from aboard ship in the Atlantic Ocean, and from Charleston (South Carolina), to his sister and brother-in-law, John Alexander, Esq., living in southwest Scotland "near New Galloway, N[orth] Britain."
