Ramon's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Martinez, traveled with their family from Brownsville, Texas, to Springhaven, Minn. The Miller Produce Farm of Springhaven was a different kind of farm from what these Mexican migrant farm workers were used to. With Ramon were Paco, the twins Juan and Julia, and Elena. Their arrival in Springhaven was something new for that small community.
