The first volume of Lewis’ masterful biography of David Glasgow Farragut’s long career in the U.S, Navy covers his life before the Civil War. Farragut served with Captain David Porter in the USS Essex; cruised in the Mediterranean; hunted pirates in the Caribbean; almost died of yellow fever; observed the French bombardment of Vera Cruz; sailed into Buenos Aires, Montevideo, and Rio de Janeiro when revolution threatened those cities; fought in the Mexican War; and commanded the steam sloop of war Brooklyn. Advocates of the New Perspective on Paul appeal to the view that "righteousness" in biblical theology is a Verhaltnisbegriff (relational concept). This is the view that "righteousness" does not mean conformity to a norm, nor is it an essentially legal concept; rather, "righteousness" denotes the fulfillment of the demands of a relationship, since the relationship itself is the norm. This relational interpretation of "righteousness" was first put forward by Hermann Cremer in 1899 and exercised a profound influence in biblical scholarship throughout the 20th century. The author argues instead for the view that "the righteousness of God" in Rom 1:17; 3: 21-22; 10:3; 2 Cor 5:21; and Phil 3:9 is the status of righteousness that comes from God as a gift.

This book attempts to bridge the gap between scientific and religious beliefs which the author believes are false schisms. The story is told in a fantasy setting inside a cavern where Science minds butt heads with a single stubborn Bible reader who discovered it. The story posits the idea that everything we see can be explained without having to allow Science or Religion to be the sole answer to why things are the way they are. In fact, perhaps the two are simply different reflections of the same reality.

Spiritually Poetic for the Heart of the Saints was given to me by the Holy Spirit of God. Days and nights, mostly nights, the Holy Spirit would minister to me, and afterwards the Holy Spirit would inspire me to write songs (praise), poems and at times Ive heard sermons and I have to say that I realize that to be used by the Spirit I had to walk in the Spirit.
