A Night Out with Yahweh
Someone may be eager to get a better understanding of God; this book will help you along the way. You would think that a "night out with Yahweh" would be all about good. That is not the fact. Although we know all things work together for the good of those who love him, there are some trials and tribulations that we must go through to develop in the different stages until we reach all that good. We will discuss in this book the three stages of maturing in Christ: 1. Baby stage 2. Young-adult stage 3. Adult stage God''s promises are true, but as you read this book, you will understand things you might not have understood or heard before. We must accomplish tremendous oppositions along the way to our growth and development in becoming God''s disciple, servant, teacher, and friend.

Simple Suppers
Results: At baseline, 95 families (children: n=126; caregivers: n=95) enrolled in the study. Among child participants, approximately 62% were female, 60% identified as Black, mean age was 6.9 years old, and mean BMI z-score was 0.69. Among caregiver participants, 98% were female, 62% identified as Black, 50% were between 31-40 years old, and mean BMI was 33.0. Approximately 40% of participating families were reliant on the Special Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for Women, Infants, and children (WIC), the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and/or the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Generalized linear models, adjusted baseline values and demographics, demonstrated a program attendance intervention effect on child BMI z-score, with children attending u003e7 classes having a significant decrease in BMI z-score post-test, which was maintained during the follow-up period. Similarly, a significant decrease in caregiver BMI was observed among intervention caregivers at post-test, regardless of level of attendance, and maintained during the follow-up period. Conclusions: Participation in Simple Suppers at a 70% level led to a decreased child BMI z-score, which was maintained at the 10-week follow-up. In addition, participation in the Simple Suppers program led to a decreased BMI among caregivers, regardless of level of attendance, which was maintained at the 10-week follow-up. Results from this study demonstrate the potential for engagement in an evidence-based family meals program to positively impact child weight status among a racially diverse sample of school-aged children, of significance given the ongoing childhood obesity epidemic.

Breaking the Glass Ceiling

Breaking the Glass Ceiling
This study examines the experiences of women who work in legal cannabis to understand how what it means to use or distribute cannabis is changing in the transition from prohibition to legalization. Drawing on 17 in-depth interviews, I argue that women''s claims that they are engaged in professional, ethical, legitimate labor constitute a moral enterprise that contests definitions of their work as deviant and criminal. Although these claims are ostensibly color- and gender-blind, I suggest that they actually confer racialized and gendered meanings on cannabis that shore up the hegemony of white patriarchy in the industry. First, I show that my participants talk about customers and products in ways that redefine cannabis as socially acceptable for use by women and by people who are white and middle- and upper-class. Next, I suggest that individuals whose embodiments align with racialized and gendered ideals of professionalism can more easily enter the industry without experiencing shame, guilt, or stigma. Finally, I show that some white women describe sexual harassment in the industry by implicitly drawing on tropes of black and brown men as sexually deviant. Considering how race, gender, and sexuality constitute definitions of deviance and normality is important when answering the question of how an illicit labor market is reconfigured during legalization. This study also adds to the literature on work and organizations by investigating how an organization that is historically associated with black and brown masculinity is reconfigured and comes to be associated with white femininity.
